Kennywood or Geauga Lake? Which do you prefer?

We're in Lexington, Kentucky. Our amusement park universe consists of Kings Island, Cedar Point, Indiana Beach, Holiday World, Dollywood, Kentucky Kingdom, Michigan Adventure, Geauga Lake, KW, and Carowinds.

We teach a class in The Amusement Park in American Society, and we run a yearly schedule where we visit all the abovementioned parks.

At the end of the year we allow the students to vote on which park they want to go back to for a weekend to just relax and enjoy the park, without all the interviewing, photographing, diagramming, mapping and other academic work they do at each park as part of class requirements.

For five straight years, they have overwhelmingly voted to go back to Kennywood. We're 90 minutes from KK and PKI, two hours from HW, three from IB and DW, five from CP and GL, and six from KW. HW, IB, CP and PKI have motels right next door. Doesn't matter. They'd rather drive twice as far and put up with the inconvenience of staying down at Station Square, just to get back to KW. These are students, the most cynical and hard to impress people in the world.

Must be some appeal there.

well there you have it! Hard to please and still vote for Kennywood. It would seem like a tie, do I sense a breakthrough?
