Kennywood has posted a video on their Web site for a new (and unnamed) steel roller coaster to open for the 2010 season. It appears to be a Premier Rides device, launched, with a vertical tower. The video says it will do 0 to 50 mph in less than three seconds.
Visit the official Kennywood site.
Looks like a decent ride to me.
I think this is the kind of thing the locals will really eat up. Even though it doesn't seem like much to us in the big scheme of things, it will be a big deal to the KW audience.
You forgot about Steel Thunder, Thunder Steel, Diamondsteel, Steelback...

Sky Rocket."Afternoon Delight" was taken? ;)
Yeah, I'm old...sue me! :)
I can imagine the the advertising slogans.
"Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes a spark ignite."
"Thinkin' of it's working' up a appetite. Lookin' forward to a little Afternoon Delight."
Yeah, I'm even older than gator. Don't sue me, the home has all my money. :)
Absolutely HATE that song and now it's stuck in my head. Thanks heaps, guys...
If that's the case, will there be enough room on the trains to joint the "4G club?"

The best way to get that song out of your head is to stay up late some night, watch the Time/Life Greatest Hits of the 70's infomercial on cable, and start humming along to "Kung Fu Fighting" and "Disco Duck."
Either that or 1000 watts of KISS & Jimi Henrdix should do the trick. Plus, you can teach your kids what REAL music sounds like.
If that ddoesn't work, try this (it's NOT A RICK-ROLL! Promise!):

Yeah, I just spotted that the other night. Great stuff. Gotta love the Muppets. :)

That was recently featured on EBaums World. Why aren't the Muppets more popular? They are hilarious. Disney should do more with that franchise.

Lol... yeah, I've never done that.... *looks around to see if anyone believes her*

lol @ RGB...Disco Duck is a classic. Good stuff there.
Yeah, I kid.
@ Hopman, you don't even want to know how "into" Kiss I was during their prime. Even had the platform boots. I made a very convincing Peter Criss
Hmmmm....
I don't have to answer... there's no need to speak...

So...apparently a lot of track has arrived (see Facebook link below for pictures) and footers are well-underway.

I'm curious as to when exactly they plan for this thing to open. I know that no date has been set, but I might be heading up to Kennywood (for the first time) this June, the first week of June, actually, and Sky Rocket being open may help to insure my trip up there.
