Kennywood and Idlewild trip help

We were looking to do a trip the last week of may and hopefully hit Kennywood and Idlewild one day each park. What would be the best ticket options? Are there any discounts available? I don't really see too much on the park's websites. I was hoping they had a 2-day/2-park option or something like what Hershey and DW usualy have. How good are the ticket discounts at Giant Eagle?

Any help is appreciated :)

I don't know about prices, but that's gonna be one fun trip! I was thinking earlier today... about how Kennywood really is a 2 day park (for me, anyway). I would do Kennywood the first day, 2nd day go to Idlewild for a while (the Wild Mouse had a rather long 45 minute wait when I was there last year) and get back to Kennywood for the evening...

When I visited Kennywood in 2008 their Guest Relations office sold me tickets to IdleWild at a significant discount. I would advise calling the park to see if they still do this.

You can buy discount tickets to Idlewild, Sandcastle, and Dutch Wonderland at Kennywood Guest Relations. Not sure what the discount % is.

The best deal for Kennywood is probably getting your tickets at Giant Eagle.

Hi

Thanks guys, I've been to Kennywood twice in the past, but not for a few years now. I do agree it could justify 2 days in itself. Sorta debating between that and a day at each park...we do have 2 kids, 6 yrs and 2 yrs so we thought Idlewild would be great.

Yes! I remember that now - you can get deep discount Idlewild tickets at Kennywood. But do it BEFORE the park closes for the night. We tried to get Idlewild tickets when we were leaving the park, and the 'box' or whatever where they keep the tickets - was already locked up.

Definitely do Idlewild if you have kids that age.

Hi

I really want to get back to Kennywood this summer. How far is Idlewild?

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

About an hour.

Hrm... my google map link is not working correctly - it's only giving the locations of Kennywood. Anywho, it's about an hour drive between the two parks.

Try this.

I like how Google maps makes it look like Phantom's second drop and fan turn are severely warped. Thunderbolt looks a bit decrepit, too.
