Kennywood Alert--Friday, October 7, 2005

From what I heard, the Allentown area got the worst of this "precipitation event"-- 8-10 inches of rain or so, which is far more than what Pgh got. Besides, we all know that CF parks have no grassy paths to turn into mud anyway. :)

Knoebels got 6 or more inches, and everything that supposed to be open was last night (10/8). The ground must have really been dry though, because the creek wasn't running deep at all-- fast, but not deep. Nowhere close to overflowing. So there will be no signs marking water level from October 2005 in the park next year.

I see Kwood is going to have special Sunday hours tonight. So everybody go and enjoy.

Anyone know if Bushkill got flooded again?

Seems like there was a lot of rain over that way again and the last couple of times it has spelled trouble for Bushkill.

You mean my comment about Concrete Fair, er Cedar Fair, dannerman? :) Was DP actually flooded at all over the weekend? Or just general flooding in the Lehigh Valley?
The lower part of the park with the creek overflows a lot. I don't know how flooded it actually got, but it was enough to close the park for the day before it even opened.
