Kennywood adding a Thomas the Tank Engine themed area

The locals are fired up over this one. Another Garfield! They're destroying history! You removed Log Jammer for THIS?

They are only removing the floral clock, fountain, and basketball game for this. ;)

Give it a year and then people will complain about the replacement for the Log Jammer.

But the historic train! They rode it when they were kids and now its going to be the same train but different!

As long as Sir Topham Hatt doesn't become cross...

There are a lot of positive comments too, but the funniest are definitely those that think this is a direct replacement for the Log Jammer.

I don’t know what the plans are, but the locomotive they had on the train ride was interesting. It also seems like the kind of train that might be easily converted to Thomas.

That area of the park was interesting, and a few of the buildings (even though they were just cinderblock) had amusement park-y shapes and cool lighting. I totally get why Kennywoodians would be upset, but they should also know that Log Jammer has nothing to do with it.

I saw a new-ish, rather complete Thomas Land at a Six Flags somewhere. Maybe Maryland. I thought for all the hype it was kind of meh.

It's a shame that one of the attractions can't be Story Time With George Carlin.

Am I the only one who think Thomas the Tank Engine is thinly veiled propaganda for colonialism? A large, white, top hatted man comes to the Island of Sodor, subjugates the native population, and convinces them that their highest purpose in life is to be useful to him.

Google "thomas the tank engine", the fourth result is a New Yorker piece titled "The Repressive, Authoritarian Soul of 'Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends'". Get more specific with "thomas the tank engine authoritarian", "thomas the tank engine totalitarian", etc, and you will find more "unique" opinions about Thomas and friends.

My favorite was the guy who said in all caps "BRING BACK THE LOG JAMMER OR EAT MY BUTT!"
