$60 million expansion includes a hotel, an indoor water park, 8.5 acres of new rides and a "signature" attraction.
Read more from The Post-Gazette.
I thought the expansion was used to accommodate the hour-long lines for all of the rides. You have to put all of those people somewhere....

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Without the highway, I don't see it happening. The land could still be used, even for attractions, eventually. As far as an expansion with the hotel and all, though, I doubt it.

You only have 16 posts, and you know about Krause? Hahaha.
I was going to disagree that Kennywood isn't hard at all to get to, because I used to go there all the time when I lived in Altoona and State College. You just take 22 and then follow the sings off the Swissvale exit. But then I realized that if I was from somewhere in Pittsburgh, it might take some time to get to.

If Kennywood needed a hotel, it would already have been built....
Or Maverick
The highway is still happening in small chunks. The new trail bridge over Bates street and the work on the intersection (Bates at 2nd Ave) is in anticipation of the anticipated expressway traffic. As much as I would love a Kennywood expansion I hope the highway dies.
