Whose Line is it Anyway?
For some reason I think Kennywood might be planning on expanding the park. If they were to get permission to build across the street they could use the monarail and the walkway under Kennywood blvd for people to get back and forth to either side. This could be really cool.

I don't think it would go into sandcastle. Although it would be cool at Idlewild.
Wow! A hyper monorail in the future. I never would have guessed that in a million years. They are building somthing we'd never expect! I wonder how fast it will go down the big drop?

o man i was sooooo excited when i heared this news. I never thought that kennywood would get a giga monorail that will break all records. i wonder what they will call it??
hope there are no restraints or handles just padded walls and a 400 foot drop
OK, KW is not building a GIGA MONORAIL. Thats bizzare and insane. But, if they install it to transport guests, that means they must be moving the parking lot cause the current one is right there, which means that rides could be on the way to the current one.
This is just my speculation...

Maybe this was done to replace the old ski lift chair ride from the parking lot to the front gate. This would be a good move for the park, as the ski lift looks like it might be an insurance nightmare waiting to happen. That is, if someone were to fall out. (I have only been to Kennywood once, so I do not know if the lift is normally closed or if it was just down during the off season.)
What about using it to link Kennywood with the Sandcastle? With many parks offering both wet and dry experiences it would make sense to make it easier for patrons to access both. I'm not sure of the exact distance between the parks, but a right-of-way agreement with the railroad is conceivable. Just run it along the river.
Well i doubt that will happen. That would be a long ride and i wouldn't want to go to both sandcastle and kennywood in one day. First that would raise ticket prices to both of the parks and less people would probably go to them or they would charge you to use the monorail.
They should get a racer monorail. That would be definatly sweet!

The ball is in your hands!!
A LIM monorail would be cool with no (OTSR) 0 to 75 in 4 seconds would get you to the parking lot or Sandcastle in no time!

What's stopping Kennywood from putting one station in the park, and another across the Monongahela River? Now THAT would be expansion, if you follow my drift. ;)

WHOO!
wow that would be cool if they put the monorail over the river and started to build over their.
OK, so this is a really old post, but anyone know anything more of what has happened to this monorail? My assumption is it is sitting in a building somewhere gathering dust.
