Kennywood 8/14

Associated parks:

8/14 - We got up around 9:00, showered, got some food at the continental breakfast, and checked out of the hotel. We were now headed for Kennywood! It was about a 2 hour drive from Sandusky. The only thing I don't like about going to Kennywood is all the steel hills(especially w/ a stick shoft car). I survived tho! Anyway, it was around 1:00 when we arrived at the park. The park was totally different than I expected, not sure what I expected tho. Kennywood is actually a VERY beautiful park, very nice landscaping!

First thing we do is the Turnpike cars - This was a great oldfashioned car ride, its pretty long too.
Next we head over to the Phantom's Revenge! - The wait was about an hour and 15 minutes. I have 2 complaints about the line. 1.why dont they give you any shade? 2. Why do they sell drinks right before you're about to go up to the station? They should sell the drinks earlier in the line. Anyway, We got in line for one of the middle cars, I think it was 3-1. One word...INCREDIBLE!!!
It is SO smooth, the second drop is amazing! I love that huge banked turn after the drop! And the bunny hops! OMG! Talk about airtime! I was flyin' out of my seat left and right! An amazing ride! And they're gonna add trims?!?!?! I would rather only have 1 train running and wait that hour! WOW!
After PR, we went on Pitt Fall - waited about 20/30 minutes if that. A great freefall ride!
From there we stopped to eat a funnel cake...yum! Then we went on Thunderbolt, didnt have to wait too long long, about 15 minutes. I like how it drops into the ravine. But what I like better is those turns on the "up" part where you get thrown to the left! Those are fun!
From there we went to Jack Rabbit - They were only running 1 train! The line was kinda long. About halfway thru the line the finally fun another train on. Then the line really started moving! We were lucky(i think) to get the very last seat! OMG! that double dip! I thought I was gonna fly out! Especially only with that little skimpy leather belt holding you in and nothing else! I swear my butt was above the back of the seat when we went over the double dip! A great ride! And then when we got off, the took the other train back off...weird.
We then went over to the racer. Waited about a half hour. Took the red train. This is a nice little wooden racer. But my train lost! :-(
We stopped to ask someone where the Exterminator was cuz we didnt know where it was. - waited about an hour and 15 minutes to get on. A great in-the-dark wild mouse. I actually felt a little queesy when I got off from the spinning. Great ride tho!
We bought some GREAT fudge on the way out!
There were a couple other things that we wanted to do like the Gold Rusher, Old Mill, and Kangaroo but we didnt have time since it was 8:00 and we still had about a 5-6 hour treck back to Allentown! We made it home around 2:00 in the morning! How nice it is to sleep in your own bed!

TALON rocks! Peace out!
Glad you had a great time at my home park.

As for PR's trims, I wouldn't worry all that much. They'll be in two places: the ascent on the last bunny hop and the rise into the brake run. Airtime should still be more than available there. I don't mind anyway, since I felt the most airtime on the hop by the station and double down.

You'd rather wait an hour for one train op in an unsahed queue? Be my guess. Those trims shouldn't have a huge impact on the air, I hope
