I made my final trip to Kennywood for the season on Tuesday(sigh). It was more crowded than I expected.
Phantom's Revenge (1 ride) I waited an hour early in the day. At night the wait was at least an hour and a half. People were allowed to wait on the bridge, but the line went well in to the back anyway. What a ride!
Exterminator (1) I waited 45 minutes. The line got longer as the day went on. A fun, dizzying ride.
Thunderbolt (5) This is my favorite wooden roller coaster. No wonder that the Discovery Channel was filming it for use on a special next Memorial Day. There is a chance I might be on it, if a remember. The back seat at night is incredible. Also, the ride operators where playing Thunderbolt trivia at night. I was the only one in line who new the person that redesigned the Thunderbolt from the old Pippin.
Racer (4) I finally won 2 out of the four times so I did not go winless this year. A fun ride.
Jack Rabbit (4) I was a little disappointed in the back seat. In the pink car, the seatbelt was really tight. I had trouble clipping it on the loosest clip. My friend and I are not that big. That limited the air time a bit, but this is still a classic coaster.
The food and employees were great as always. I'm really glad I opted to ride in the back seat of all three wooden coasters at night, instead of riding Phantom's Revenge again. I could not think of a better way to end the season, than in the back of three great and old wooden coasters!
