We kissed a lot of, as Jeff would say, "turd-cutters." Actually, anybody who was registered for KennyKon (an annual event of the American Coaster Enthusiasts) got ERT on Phantom's Revenge, Thunderbolt, and Turtle.

"Hoochie-watching is really the best part of summer."

AMEN! And the hooter, I mean hotter, it is the better. ;)

(Sorry if that offends anyone, I just couldn't help myself.)

Who loves National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!
And the majority of people, obviously, opted for Phantom's Revenge.

I definitely have to agree with you all about, uh, "people watching." Nothing like finding a bench in a busy section of the park and watching the "scenery." As I told Joe on many occasions, "bird" watching is right up there with coaster riding. :)

There was only one I was watching all day :o)

Morning ERT it seemed like everyone was at PR, but at night quite a few people had taken off already. We were able to get 3 rides in on PR in a very short period of time.

Yes, staring is one of the favorite parts of my job. That's why I wear sunglasses so much... and it's also one of the reasons why the park gets so depressing come mid-December. (Today was Italian Day...YOW!)

Being on the "other side," I had a bit of a different KennyKon experience as most of you, but it was still a fun day. (Hell, I got paid to go!)

It was really nice being able to meet Cernelli, Lynch, John Peck, Rideman, ArrowFanatic(I think?) etc. I got to have a decent conversation with John and Dave after the ERT. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet Jeff. Well, not sorry, but mildly miffed. I didn't cry or anything... well, not for that long anyway.

I think the thing I enjoy most about meeting people who I've "met" here is the other things we have in common. I like talkin' new wave with John, talking about non-ferrous braking devices with Dave... and it seems more and more that Jeff and I have the same sense of humor ("turd-cutters" is GREAT, btw) and attention span when it comes to talking exclusively of coasters. I, too, enjoy MANY other things. (My wife comes to mind here, along with the 3 Stooges, Yuengling, Guinness, industrial/new wave music, etc... and a big WOW to the two, count 'em, TWO people I saw wearing Front 242 t-shirts!)

I'm really glad that everyone enjoyed "my" park so much... seeing PR built first-hand was truly an awesome experience, but no more than seeing all of your faces when you get off of it. It's a great job to have when there are so many utterly thrilled people surrounding you all day, I hope to see many of you again.

So long.

Riiiiiiiight. Come on, I'm married and I'm easily distracted. Fortunately we're secure enough in our relationship that it doesn't matter. Also you have to understand that my hoochie-watching is totally out of respect for the gender that is far more beautiful and is really running the world whether we admit it or not.

UGH!!!! I completely forgot about Italian day!! I'm stuck here in Rochester NY until this afternoon (I've been up here since Saturday, hence me missing the buzz gathering at KW!) Had I remembered that yesterday was Italian Day, I would have cut things very short here!

So now it was a CoasterBuzz gathering? I thought ACE sponsored it. ;)

Wasn't trying to cut you down for the hoochie-watching, Jeff. I understand what you're saying!

Women are the most beautiful things in the world....
Word up, with my personal photo trailing somewhere behind... ;)

I guess you weren't aware, Jeff, but I was expecting a CoasterBuzz gathering all along. I knew a lot of people from our little website would be there, and was pleasantly surprised by meeting a lot of people whom I had no clue were going to be at the park (Rideman, John Peck, KPJB, etc.)

I'd like to formally suggest Kennywood as a contender for the first organized CoasterBuzz gathering. :)

In the opening, Jeff said Bayern Kurve was one of the most intense flat rides ever built. I can't agree more...since K-Wood is one of the only parks to still have one in stock. And BTW Coasterbuzzers, Kennywood is America's best kept secrets. Where can you ride 3 classic woodies (two of which were built in the 20's and the other rebuilt in the 60's), a brand new hyper and one of the craziest Wild Mouse coasters ever created for only $20? You find me a better deal and I'll come knockin'. Plus, the food is impecable. Cheap, non-greasy...and the fries in the Patch are the best (even better than, dare I say, CP?). Make a trip to Pittsburgh, seriously. It's even better when the Pirates are playing in their new ballpark to catch a game and Kennywood in the same weekend. Coaster and Ball parks...are summer traditions.
