Kennywood

And do NOT leave without riding one of the last remaining Bayern Kurve rides. What a blast that ride is. And then there's the Auto Race, the Whip, the Swing Around, the Kangaroo, the list goes on and on. Kennywood is a definite must-see.

And I agree about the Exterminator. Very well-done theming.

this sounds like a great park....i might just skip sfwoa this year, and go to kennywood insted.
Is the park usually crowded on Sundays? That's the day I planned on visiting.
Me and my colleague Grant are travelling 3500 miles in May to visit Kenneywood, hope it is as good as it sounds. We have its twin park here in the UK which is full of charm and character too, Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Has many rides like Kenneywood some dating back to the 1920's and before!

I cant wait until May when Grant and myself will be attacking 13 parks in 16 days!!!

Dont dream it, ride it!!
ukcoasterlad4 - are you (I hope) planning on checking out Knoebel's Grove as well on your trip? It rivals Kennywood (some say surpass) for atmosphere and classic rides, and is a short drive away.
I was at Kennywood on the Sunday before July 4th last year and the crowds were very managable. M The longest wait I had was @20 minutes for Exterminator and Jack Rabbit. This was my first trip to the park and I absolutely loved it! All three wooden coasters are classics. I love the way that the Jackrabbit and the Thunderbolt use the terrain. I went solo but this year I'm planning a trip with my whole family. I know my girls (ages 2 & 6) will love it... and I can't wait to go on the old racing cars with them - they looked awesome. Oh yeah, the fries were fantastic! This park has to be one of the best values in the industry...

Kennywood books school picnics through June. It is busier weekdays during those picnics, slower on Sundays. During July, they book company picnics and many large companies don't want to give their employees all a weekday off to go riding, so Sundays (and Saturdays, too) get much busier. July weekdays are generally the slowest at KP.

I refuse to add a signature. Damn, too late.
Dweaver...Here is a good plan...stay in Cranberry or Wexford PA when you come. You'll be about 40 minutes away (pending traffic). Both of the areas are right off the PA turnpike--either exit 3 or 4. If you stay there you are only 1 hour - 1hour 20 minutes away from SF in Ohio...This way you can hit them both. You gotta try the fries...
