Kennywood #6?

Hey, has anyone heard who named Kennywood #6 in the world? the advertise it like crazy anyone?

Thanks

Ride On!

I think Amusement Today or NAPHA has them at #2 or 3 or something. I'm surprised they wouldn't advertise that. Maybe they're number 6 on one of the Discovery or Travel channel polls which probably stemmed from one of those two places above or another amusement related association.

Kennywood is quoting me. The park is my #6. Don't the ads say "Rated #6 in the world by Moosh" ???

LOL!

Jeez... Between coining the term "LoCoSuMo" and having his own industry-recognized rankings, Mamoosh is becoming quite the "mover and shaker."

Who broke the bell on The Legend?

Mamoosh did. Something about Kentucky...

A star is born. :)

Mamoosh, you've got to tell us your secret! How are you so creative and able to draw in this much attention? I will never forget that event from SRM '01. You're just genuis in getting people talking. :)

LOL chris and Koaster King. I'm reminded of that old kids game "Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?" but now it goes like this:

"Who broke the school bell on the Legend Station?" "Mamoosh broke the school bell on the Legend Station!" "Who me?" "Yes you!" "Couldn't be!" "Then who....?"

Perhaps we can play a round of that while waiting in the queue at SRM!

He's already trying to get us to sing songs about him.

The fame has gone straight to his head. Just don't forget about the little people. :)

I prefer Weebles to Little People...Weebles wobble but they don't fall down!

Too funny 'moosh! At least we know you've not the one who thought up the first TR:TR-TR... Or was it you!?

I'll definitely be listening for that tune at SRM... but more importantly, I'll be listening to make sure The Legend bell is still intact!! =^P

K-King - nope...I can't take credit for TR:TR-TR. My only real claim to fame thus far is coining "LoCoSuMo!" Well, perhaps some know me from Project Mothers Day at SRM01 and Operation Graduation at SRM this year, but I don't do those to get recognized. With my luck LoCoSuMo will be my crowning acheivment and its all downhill to obscurity from here ;-)

I believe Kennywood deserves that ranking. It's one of the few parks left in the world that still operates as if it were the 1920's. It's got a good selection of coasters and it is a park that both old and young can thoroughly enjoy.
Thats quite an honor...was this for only Amusement parks or were Themeparks included in this ranking?

You're so contagious, you turn ma pages!

Are we talking about Matthew's list or the list that we haven't figured out what it was yet?

My guess would be it would include both, but Mamoosh will have to tell you about his own listing system. ;)

Airtime or laterals? Pepsi or Dr. Pepper? Weebles or Little People?

Thanks Mamoosh, for taking me back with that one! :)

Chris - you're welcome. BTW: Airtime, Little People, and both, but only if their diet.
LOL! Mamoosh, you crack me up!

Thanks, Sax. Unfortunately I'm only allowed so much funny each week and I blew my entire wad yesterday. Good thing Sunday isn't far off ;-)

Getting back to the topic, the same poll ranked Cedar Point #1, Islands of Adventure # 2 and Busch Gardens next ahead of Kennywood. But it claims to be ranking parks based on rides alone, then claims Busch Garden gets its high ranking because of its excellent food courts, stage shows and gift shops.

Actually, if we're using just rides as the basis, I think KW ranks ahead of Busch, which would place it third among American parks. People who have never been to KW might think that too high, but if you consider free parking, good food, landscaping, a wide variety of historic, family and intense rides, reasonable rates and hospitality, I think the rating is probably justified.
