Kennywood - Interesting Promotion

If you visit Phantom Fright Nights on Saturday, Sept 23, all food (including Potato Patch Fries) will be free. Not a bad way to attract visitors to preview weekend, eh?

Wow. I wonder how much money they lose on one day of free food.

Is Phantom Fright Nights getting better?
I've yet to be at the park during this time... so I've never experienced it.

I love kennywood and its not as you think. On the website it says they will get a voucher and it will be good for some food. So its not like unlimited free food.

If you haven't been to Phantom Fright Nights...you're missing A LOT! It's one of the best halloween productions put on by a park in the nation! It's a definetly MUST do! Be warned though, it's getting so popular...at least closer towards Halloween that the park gets PACKED!

I can't imagine how ridiculously crowded it would be that night. I wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole.

Sounds like a great idea. I think it's going to be very packed that day.

I'm not sure where you read that, but it isn't correct.

Cool promo. I'm sure the park will be crowded, but I'd still go if I were in town that night...

Bah. I'm going to be IN Pittsburgh that night, but I'll be at a comedy club :( Someone eat some Potato Patch fries for me, please... ;)

^^ The PARK will likely be very crowded, as will the food lines...wonder how the RIDE lines will be?
Here's an idea...they could offer anytime during the season a wristband with the same privilage....I'd drop $25 on something like that in a second!

The problem with that is that you could just wait in line four times and feed your entire family for free.

It really only works if it's all or nothing.

Hi

Parks have tied in drinks and parking to admission price, so who'll be the first to try food?

Kennywood will try it if this goes well.

Ummm, at USH last year, it was $20. Now, USF and IoA are offering the same deal...except for the same $20, drinks are NOT included at the FL parks....there's also a slight upcharge ($5 I think) to make the all-day-pass good at both USF and IoA (i.e., "complex-wide").

But each person has to wait in line each time to get one order per person. If the lines are even moderately long, how many lines will one person be able to get through in 4 hours?

I guess a person will get $19.50 worth of food, or $19.50 worth of rides (or $3 less with the Giant Eagle ticket). Kennywood won't be going broke on this promotion. I think it's a good idea for an occasional event.

One good thing is you lose the frustration of a clueless customer trying to figure out how much they owe, and a clueless kid at the register trying to figure out how much change to give. Might actually make for a more efficient line.

I think the promotion's brilliant personally. I had always marked the first days of Fright Nights to go because they have always been the least crowded. Now Kennywood has to go and ruin that by running this promotion and (likely) jamming the park full of people.

Curse you, you ingenious bastards!

;) (said lovingly, of course)
