KennyKon

I was looking in the Meeting Calendar and I noticed that on May 26 people are talking about KennyKon. What is this? I looked on their web site and didn't see anything about it. I was planning on going the 25 as a celebration for my graduation from college, but if there is something special on the 26 I would wait to go that day. Any please let me know. Thanks!

Is it just an Ace even or could members of Coasterbuzz go too?

It's an ACE event. If you're not an ACE member, you could go but would have to pay the "nonmember" rate.

I went last year (as a non-member, obviously), and was excited to see about a half-dozen CoasterBuzz T-shirts. However, the ERT was sort of crowded with Phantom running only one train. I don't doubt it'll be better this year. The best thing is that Thunderbolt was in great shape from the off-season rehab so it felt great.

I'll probably skip it this year and try to go on one of the first weekends, as it has been my experience that these days have thin crowds.

I've attended KennyKon the last 2 years. Both visits were great. Last year 1 train operation of Phantom's Revenge did cause a long wait. They are opening this year with 2 trains, so that may be a good sign.

Last year they had a great buffet lunch, which was worth the price in itself.

Also note that there is a LOT of events in that area of PA that weekend. Saturday will be 75th at Idlewild in Lingonier, Sunday at KennyKon, and Monday Leap the Dips at Lakemont in Altoona.

I plan to attend all three.

The magnets were being moved and reinstalled this afternoon. All looks good for 2 trains come next Saturday.

See you there.
