Does anyone know exactly why this was closed and why they aren't even going to try and redo it to reopen it. By the pictures I've seen, it looks like a fun ride. Anyone like Windjammer?

Why don't they just fix the problem? Raise the drop. Lower the hump after the drop. I don't know the design, but this seems logical. Plus, the ride looks so innocent. How could it bang your head? ;) Windjammer was a nice idea though. i hope it can be fixed.
Believe me, Windjammer would only be good in the scrap yard. I only wished they auctioned off swings with the wrecking ball at the Coaster Solace. :)

Say no, to lap bar nazis!
Well, it was the first looping / racing steel coaster. (I think) There was just nothing to it, really. Not a very big drop, vertical loop, a few smaller dips, helix, that's it. At least it raced when it was running.
As for headbanging, it was pretty bad.
Has anyone heard anything in regards to the lawsuit? It has been nearly a year since the suit was filed.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Talk was flying from the Knotts people at the AIMS safety conference this week that Windjammer maybe in the process of being dismantled while we spoke. Whether or not this is actually true I can't confirm at this time.
