Well I decided to go to Knotts instead of school on monday. Hard choice. No seriously, school is good but coasters are better. :) Anyway, it was going to be awesome, I anticipated no crowds at all.
But when I got to the park, disaster struck. Ghostrider was closed. This really caught me by surprise because it was open the night before. Oh well. New plan of attack: Timber Mountain Log Ride first. Got the first ride of the day on it!
I scrambled over to Jaguar for the first of many rides that morning. Same jaguar that I always remembered until the second ride. i was first row, then coming off the lift into the leading helix, a big blast of fire comes over the track in the part where you go through the temple! I had never seen that before-ever and I work at Knotts. A little disconcerting when you sit in the front row. Never take your eye off these family coasters. Anyway, hands up all the way...
Next rides came on Boomerang and monte. Fun as usual. GO shuttle loop! A classic.
ANyway, supreme scream rocked. Never stops scaring me. Every time...
Went on bigfoot rapids alone for the first time. What a boring ride when you ride alone. River rapids are a social experience, you have to laugh at other people as they get soaked. Thats the fun.
Anyway, went on the Calico Mine Ride, my favorite dark ride. What a masterpiece. Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. Not such a masterpiece. Not since they took out the omnimover.
Went on headspin, a scrambler for the first time. Just never noticed it. Hammerhead was closed. Dragon swing was closed. What a day for mantinence. ANyway, went on the fiesta village flat rides. Nice selection.
Anyway, it was a great day on the farm. I love to go and just enjoy the park when I am not working there. There is just something about Knotts that sets it apart from the other local parks. It has the great theming that the mountain doesn't have. it seems so much more laid back than Disneyland, where you feel so pressured to spend all of your money. You know, like RCT where all guests leave with no cash. Anyway, it was a nice day at the park!

Home Park: Knotts Berry Farm!
but also Disneyland and DCA
A Cedar Fair property with rides closed? I thought that was impossible if you read these pages all the time. They can never do anything wrong in some peoples eyes.
Yeah, no reports at all about CP opening day talking about rides being down or closed on and off all day...

Great TR CoasterFanMatt. I would personally be a little pissed off that the only(coaster) reason I went to KBF for was closed(don't like Boomers, Monte was slightly above average, and Jaguar did absolutely nothing for me). But it's ok for you since you get to go all the time. I really like SS. It's probobly my fave S&S drop/shot ride. My fave drop ride overall though is only 20 minutes away so I can wait until next year to go back. Hopefully, a new coaster will be waiting for me. They need it.

PKI-Wooden, Helix, and Kiddie Coaster Capital of the World!
And I LOVE CP, so Get Up Out of My Azz About It! :)
Remember people "the Farm" is open year round. Ride maintenance is on a rotating schedule. Just like the place with "the Mouse" down the road. They haven't had the luxury of having the gates closed for the last eight months like their other parks.
Aw shucks, Dutchman beat me to it. Let me just say "ditto."

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Ghostrider was open the night before, it was probably just general mantinence on a not so busy day. Might we be getting the silver train back? I hope so!

Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. Not such a masterpiece. Not since they took out the omnimover.
What was the omnimover again?

May 25'Th You'll Be Seeing Deja Vu Over And Over And Over...
it was these cars that were on one big conveyor belt, they didn't stop the cars(well they did once in a while), you just walked right on when they were moving
Oh man!:( That was one of the coolest things about that ride. You know why KBF did that?

May 25'Th You'll Be Seeing Deja Vu Over And Over And Over...
The ride still has the convyor belt, but they turned the single cars into trains so now they have to stop the ride to get they poeple to board thus stoping the other trains while they are in in the ride area. I havent riden it like this yet, but I hear it sucks and that they get somone that works there to go on the ride with everyone with a flashlight and check on everybody when the train stops. As for the rides being closed for mantinence, they do that all the time. Whenever I go they have at least one ride closed.

favorite coaster: Ghostrider
Yeah, racerbret summed it up nicely. They are still on one big conveyor belt, so when they stop in the station, every car inside the ride has to stop as well. Feel sorry for the employees who have to go on that ride over and over and over to check people during the stop... I went again to KBF on Monday 5/14 to pick up a paycheck :). Once again Ghostrider was closed. I guess it is just closed weekdays or mondays. I love Ghostrider.

We will trade Windjammer for Flashback...
Ghostrider is closed for rehab. I think it was supposed to be closed may 7th through 17th, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, I know it's opening up again soon.
