Kalahari coming to Virginia

An indoor/outdoor water park built around an African theme is slated for Fredericksburg. Company officials say the $200 million Kalahari Waterpark Resort would bring about 1,000 new jobs to the city. Plans call for the park to be built on about 40 to 50 acres at the Celebrate Virginia tourism and commercial development off Interstate 95.

Two days, no comments. I thought about posting this as I saw a news clip Sunday night about it. Figured it'd be good news to some. I'm kinda looking forward to it, it'd be nice to have such a large complex so close to home...
Looking forward to having Kalahari in my hometown. Hopefully they'll have good business.

This is odd. This morning I came across this news that a Kalahari indoor water park will open in central Virginia in 2026 and decided to search here to see if anything had been submitted already. Something had been submitted, but I didn't expect it was 17 years ago. Forgot all about this, but apparently it's finally happening.
