Just moved from az to ny

I just moved from arizona land of no coaster parks to the east coast and a cant wait to start riding coasters. i have already been to sfgadv while visiting my dad the last two summers. but i was wondering what major parks are within about a four hour drive from new york . I also know that New York state has two sixflags parks are these worth visiting. After moving from the west coast i have to find something to substitute for my regular trips to sfmm

Congrats!

Have fun :)

Good Lord, what isn't within 4 hours of NY? Go to RCDB, or do some searches yourself. You'll find enough parks to fill up pratically your whole summer.

B&M vs. Intamin? CCI vs. GCI? Who cares! They're all fun!
You're close to argueably the best strech of about i dunno maybe 750 miles for parks in the world ... two of the best six flags (SFGA and SFA), two good smaller parks in Dorney and Hershey, then Kennywood, SFWoA and CP, plus many other smaller parks in between

Ok, lets start with the larger parks.

There's SFNE just south of Springfield, Mass.

Lake Compounce just southwest of Hartford, Conn.

SFA is just north of DC (although that would be right around your limit of 4 hours)

The Great Escape just north of Albany.

Dorney Park in Allentown, PA

Hersheypark in Hershey, PA.

Knoebels in Elysburg, PA (It's in the middle of nowhere, but should still be in your 4 hr range).

Coney Island in Brooklyn.

That about covers the major parks. Other parks include Quassy Amusement Park in Conn., Bushkill and Dutch Wonderland in PA, Clementon in NJ,...also, a lot of the beach resorts along the Jersey coast have some type of amusement parks/piers. And there is Deno's Wonder Wheel Park and Astroland which are also in Brooklyn.

Keep in mind that there are quite a few other small parks out there. I have only listed the more popular parks.

Happy Coastering!

I moved from AZ to NY about a year and a half ago! I live in albany. The parks within driving distance are great! Where in AZ, and where did you move to in NY?

Is it true its always happy hour here? If it is I'd like to stay a while....
i live in buffalo, ny. It is a long drive from NYC, about 7-8 hours, but u got a couple parks over here- SFDL, PCW, MFI, and a couple on the way. Kind of sounds like similar circumstances that I'm in... My dad moved to Charlotte, NC to get a job down there and me and mom have been finishing up school here, which ended today (!!!) and now I am going down to a new and good park - PC's for the rest of the summer! Anyone live near Paramount Carowinds and wanna help me out here.
