Just Got my MindBent on the Mindbender

Hey guys, I just got back from West Edmonton Mall and boy did I have a great time. The place was empty and all the rides were running. I had limited time so I caught lunch at Hooters and then hurried on over to Galaxy Land. I'll rate the rides with the great -3 to +5 scale 0 being slightly positive

My first coaster in seven months. It was ok not great but for a kids coaster what can you expect.
And now the one the only MINDBENDER!-+5
As usual the Mindbender was perfect! The 5.2g loops were awsome and the 125ft-steep-twisting drop was impecable. They have added seat belts lately (I think) and boy are they paranoid here shoulder restraints, seat belts, lap bar and padding everywhere! they also check the coaster for 45 minutes every two hours. During the check they go over every sing bogie looking for cracks. But I can't really blame them after what happend. For those of you that don't know on June 14th 1986 the Mindbender fourth car fishtailed and slamed into the loop support killing three. Today the lift seemed to be running extremely fast (MF fast). Overall the mindbender was great as usual.
I also rode there Intamin Free-fall the Drop Of Doom. I hadn't been on one in while and didn't remember the accent being so quick, it took 6.5 seconds to get to the top.
Overall I had a great day at the Worlds largest mall and hope to be back soon. I did also find an interesting piece of trivia.. Galaxayland is the only park in the world with three or more coasters that all have tire drive lifts.

Good report. I agree on mindbender, it's one of the greatest I've been on. Definitely +5 material. Probably the best shwarzkopf I've been on. Extremely intense!
