Jury awards $283,000 for injury at The Great Escape

Terry Laguesse was struck by metal bars when a portion of the Jail House Exhibit in the park's ghost town fell and hit her on the neck in 1996. She had to undergo surgery as a result of the injury. Her lawyer says the park had problems with the attraction the day before but did not fix the problem.

Jordan do you know much flat rides cost? And you ask for decent ones. Two-Hundred-Thousand might get you one half-way decent flat ride.
There is no "Premier Parks," only Six Flags, Inc. (they changed the name last year).

Huss Enterprise - $1 million
Zierer's new version of the Flying Carpet - $1.3 million
That's why parks don't just plop them down all over the place.
$283k could buy a used but working flat ride, but not a newer, spectacular one.

If the injury required surgery, it was obviously no scratch. And consider that her lawyers probably took around half, I wonder if she got true compensation.

This park seems to start having some problems as of recent.
I hope nothing bad comes of this park, I want to ride The history making Comet one of these days
