Today is July 4th, many say it is the halfway point for summer. For SoCal, Florida and Texas it doesn't matter, but for Northerners it does. I can't beleive it is half done already. It really jumped on me. Are happy with what parks you have been to so far? We ony have half a summer to keep going to parks and they close again.

It's only July 4th. For most summer doesn't end until the end of August. We still have almost two months to go. I still say we get out there and ride though!

At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs.
What a deppresing topic, but it's true, summer has flown by, sadly, i hope it lasts longer the second part. I only went to SFGAM twice, and SFGADV once, so I haven't really began my coaster riding summer...yet.

how dare you. HOW DARE YOU, sir!~Adam Carolla
Summer began June 21st. 2 weeks ago. Summer is not nearly half over, and I am not sure who says it is. And, even for those up north where parks are only open these months, your parks still are open through october. So really, summer is just beggining! To say otherwise would just be to intentionally depress yourself!
The Beginning of Summer Has YET To Begin!!
This is actually the official beginning of summer for me.
It is the time when I ask for more days off at work. It is the time that I set foward for camping, and it is the time I set my eyes on the parks I plan on hitting!
June, May... those were just warm-ups to summer!
The half-way point actually is the first week of August. Because you know that you got a full month left of summer, yet you just left behind a full month as well!
I don't plan on my trips till late July & August, so summer has only begun in my opinion!!

The Great Escape... Soon to become Six Flags Adirondack Escape!!!
Summer has just begun for me. I've only been to SFEG and Lakeside but this week I am going to Hersheypark, PKD, and BGW!

You guys hve actually given me different view on this and now I am not sad about it any more. I never thought about July 4 being so close to June 21, but it is. You guys cheered me up. I still have lots of time!

Yup...it's only JUST begun.
Also, you might consider moving to CA...we'll be warm all the way through October.

Forget about it. It can't be THAT bad!
Ohio even stays pretty warm through the end of September...and you can go to Cedar Point all the way through Oct. 31. Still lots of good times left.
In many ways I do consider this the half-way point of summer, because I generally visit the parks less in July and the first part of August. They're often too crowded. I am however very pleased that Cedar Point finally had the common sense to extend their season to the end of October, so I don't have to do that long trek down to PKI (which is just as fun, mind you, but I hate the drive).

Half over?
Hmmmmm... gotta schedule the time better.
Oh well, the ones I want to definately hit this year yet (Knoebels and Dorney) are goth day trips for me... two hours each.
So far, this year I have set a personal record... 5 parks... 3 of which I have never been to before, and one of which I have returned to after around a 30 year absense.
Okay okay... I know that is not impressive compared to some of your counts... but hey... my wife and I both work and Vacation time is a tricky thing to allocate (plus we have a Golden Retriever who we spoil rotten and we hate to put him in a kennel... hard to get house/dog sitters all the time).

I do like how PKI has a longer schedule. And im glad that CP decided to do the same thing. But for me, which the summer ends (band camp starts: no time to go to parks) August 2nd so I gatta hit more parks! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
