We're getting ready to celebrate 100 years of family fun at HERSHEYPARK in 2007! We are announcing exciting news about the celebration on Wednesday, July 12! As a HERSHEYPARK "sweetmail" subscriber, you will be one of the first to find out !
You can see the waterslide sections when you ride LR, and from yesterday you can definatly tell that the field on the LR side is going to be a tower (they have poured a gigantic concrete slab with a couple of footers in it) and on the Mouse side they are building a new changing area (I assume, its either that or just a plain bathroom) and something else, could be a tower but for now its just dirt except for a weird section where they have made an indentation into the hill and poured concrete to stablize it.

I have a feeling the way the parks PR woman was talking on a recent podcast that that won't be the only new things we'll see next season though. I don't have anything further to go on, but she just sounded like it was going to be huge.
We'll just have to wait and see on July 12th!...
I was just there tonight, and checked all of that out. I think that they would have been better off making a separate gated waterpark (Still included w/park admission of course since they have to compete with Dorney.) I think that they would have been better off building over on the new tract of land that they just acquired, and left that part of the park for more amusement rides.
They know what they are doing. I can't really think of any bad additions or decisions they have made with the park(except for that Frequent Faller debacle, and their Vekoma boomerang. At least it is one of the most rideable ones.)
