Judge replaces Conneaut Lake board with two-person management team

A judge granted the all-volunteer, 12-member Conneaut Lake board’s request to resign. In its place, Crawford County Court of Common Pleas Judge Anthony Vardaro put the park’s court-appointed overseer in charge of day-to-day operations. The park is now operating under a $92,000-a-year two-person management team.

This sounds like good news.

Hmmm. $40,000 a year to keep my day job and "communicate with the park (officials) in the evening" sounds like a good deal. Where do I sign up for the gig Stearns got?

I also find the comments after the article a bit amusing. People really think $52,000 for a GM is an 'inflated' salary?

Director of the Humane Society? School Principal?

52K isn't that much I'll agree, but with the *industry qualifications* these guys have, sounds like deja vu all over Americana, er, LeSourdsville. I'm NOT saying they're bad people...

$52,000 for the qualifications? Way too much.

$52,000 for the position? Not inflated at all.

Stearns position? The easiest, free money gig on the planet. :)

I agree, Lord Gonchar.

I'd love a 40k a year part time job that I only have to deal with 3-4 hours a night.
Let's see: If he gets off his day job at 5, has dinner til 6, gets to the park at 6:30 and the park closes at 9. Yeah, not bad at all. I could do that.

Hey, here's any idea: Maybe if he works for the Humane society, PETA will let them have animals. Yeah, it's a stretch, but who knows?

In a way, I agree with some of the reader comments. The park should basically die a peaceful death. Is it really worth keeping a park that constantly struggles for money?
No... only if Blue Streak goes somewhere else and Toboggan goes to the bottom of Conneaut Lake.
