Joker's Jinx open at SFA?

Hi all,

I was at SFA last year and Joker's Jinx was closed. I think problem had been restraints? I heard it is reopened with new restraints. Can anybody help confirm this? I am going tonight hopefully and would like to ride it. (I know it might be closed today, I just want to know if it is open this season at all.) I could not find that information on any websites.

Many thanks!

I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it!

Great, thank you!

One more question. RCDB says the old "Python" (former SFGA "Lightning Loops") is in storage. I have heard it can be seen from inside SFA somewhere. Does anybody know where? I remember going on the ride and it would be fun to see it!

Python can be seen from the lift of Superman. The ride is storage behind Superman and Batwing.
Yea its open, I rode it in the ending of June, and the ride is so much more better without the harnest smashing ur temple till you start to blank out, prop was worse then a street beating, with the lapbars Its just alot of fun! ,but the launch dosent seem to powerfull, but thats prop becuase when I go to Sfgadv they have The chiller.
It truely amazes me that someone gets killed on a roller coaster and then they transport it to a different park and rename it. I'm just wondering why Lightning Loops was split into 2 coasters..it should have been dismantled..:)

The reason why Lightning loops was closed was to make way for SFGRADV's 1993 installation of B:TR and at the time Adventure world was looking to install another coaster so they bought the ride from SF and had it relocated to AW where it was re-named python.

In 99 the ride was dismantled to make way for Two face, supposedly because the park isn't allowed to build more than one coaster per year the county ordered the park to remove one coaster to make way for the new coaster, the other half of the ride is located at Frontier city under the name Diamond back.

When it comes to the Lightnin' Loops incident, it may not have to do with ride malfunction, but rather guest and/or operator error. From what I've heard, it's possible that what happened was that a girl and her b/f were going to ride. The girl decided not to ride, but then in the last moments decided to hop back in. Well, the restraints were already closed, so she hopped in front of the OTSH. The ride was launched, and she fell out at some point. Have you ever wondered why certain SF Arrow loopers have those huge grab bars, while certain other Arrow loopers don't? Well, the huge grab bars may have been the result of this incident. With those huge grab bars, it makes it harder to hop back in the train than if you had the smaller ones. Also, this part may or may not be correct, but there may have been something in the LL settlement that stated that it couldn't reside at a Six Flags park--but I'm not too sure of the validity of this. I think the side that the girl fell out of was the Python, not the Diamondback.

I was at SFA this past Wednesday (17th) and JJ was running two trains all day. The load times were awful, but the ride ran good all day. It was my first time on a LIM-launched ride. Very good ride, and I'm still amazed at all the track they crammed into that little space!
