Jokers Jinx

Ok im sorry if this already came up but im oblivious and curious. I've seen to sfa like 8 times now and joker is never open. Anyone know the story?
Last time I went it was down as well & that was back in june. From what I recall hearing is that they're waiting for a part to be custom made & delivered to the park so they can get it running again but I'm curious as to wether or not the initial shutdown has anything to do with the problems on MR Freeze or with chiller.
So you've been to SFA eight times and never read the sign in front of the entrance? It clearly states that a major component is being manufactured to ensure the longevity and safety of the ride (might not be the exact wording). But BatwingFan is right that it's related to both Mr. Freeze and Chiller. A friend of mine heard at Gadv. that Chiller will not be running again this season. I hope that information is wrong.
I heared at least that Mr. Freeze in ST. Louis is not to open till Fright Fest so it is going to take awhile, or it will not oopen at all this season. Something about the modifications on the wheel bogies diddnt work out as planed, so they are ordering new wheel bogies for all Premier LIM coasters in the SF chain, not a simple fix. My 2 cents.

Quite a convenient way to save on operating costs, eh?
What a great way to save the money! SFStl does not have that many roller coasters to make up for Mr. Freeze, I wished it would just open, its a big statue now.
This is all just bad news for me. I love jokers jynx. As for Mr. Freeze, i was done early this season and it seemed to be running fine. Other than not opening with the park in true six flags fashion but it was worth a wait. Now i know chiller has been down for awhile, but does anyone about when Freeze and JJ went down ?

Freeze apparently went down SOON after my visit, which was Memorial Day weekend.

Am *I* the (Joker's) Jinx? ;)

shortly after the Chiller accident, I beleive.
All three rides will be down for a while. Apparently, the bogey assemblies on all of the cars have to be replaced with different ones so that another accident like the one on Chiller doesn't happen.
So if JJ, MR.Freeze @ SFStL, & B&R:TC are down how come Mr.Freeze @ SFOT, & Poltergeist are not closed?
Good question as screamscape reported that polty is now up & running, perhaps they've got the new parts needed for the wheel assemblies by now?

Last time I looked when I visited the park in june both of JJ's trains were still on the ride so work obviously hasn't started on replacing those parts yet.

Mr. Freeze at SFOT is closed like the others and may not open for quite some time.

The Poltergeist trains received a structural overhaul within the last few years and apparently those wheel bogies are okay. It is the only Premier LIM launched coaster in the Six Flags chain currently operating. The choice to close the coasters was made by Six Flags, not Premier, so Speed and [CF]PKI's Flight of Fear are also still running.

^ Poltergeist TRAINS, as in plural? When we were there a couple years' back, they only HAD the one...but I still thought it was the best of the *pisghetti bowls*... ;)
I believe that was the year they were getting overhauled. They went one whole season with only one train. Last year there were two trains, but they both look like crap. Whatever overhauling they did evidently did not include the visible portions of the train.

Well if they didn't have two trains when you were there the one time years ago, there certainly could not be two now.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

Gee, why didn't *I* think of that...

/user smacks forehead...

Well remember what happened on polty when they tested it after the lap bar conversion?

One of the fins weren't lined up properly & it was sheered off by the LIMS during launch requiring a complete rebuild of the entire train.

This is where SFA could really use another standard looping coaster because with JJ being down the only loopers the park has are inverts, personally I'd like to see JJ get replaced with a floorless or B&M looper because the layout really leaves something to be desired.

^ I don't recall this incident at all. On the contrary, I was there very early in the season after the conversion and there were two trains running.
^^ Put your dibs on SFMM's Scream then :)

coastin' since 1985
