Johnny Rocket's is a 1950's theme restaurant: a burger & milkshake joint, jukeboxes in the booths, etc. Practically the same as Coasters, which is why I suspect this rumor's validity.
Only because Johnny Rockets came up will I ask this question, what happened to the 'GreenTree Inn' right at the entrance to the causeway? When I went in October, the JR restaurant (complete with pink cadilac smashed through the wall) was gone. We used to always stay at the Greentree when visiting CP. Anyone know when it changed? jeremy
That has changed several time over the past few years. Now it's "Cedar Downs", an OTB parlor.
2Hostyl, are you saying the Greentree Inn is gone? That is a shocker to me if so. We always stay there on CP trips because they have the bowling alley attached. :)

I think the Greentree Inn is still there but I have noticed that the restaurant is gone. My family always would eat there while we were at CP. If I remember correctly, my parents friends stayed at that hotel the same year I noticed it was gone, so I'm assuming the hotel is still there.

You can visit Johnny Rockets at www.johnnyrockets.com, and check them out for yourselves. They have burgers, club sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and great shakes. I ate at a few of them, since I am a food guy, and they were discussed for our park, but it is a limited menu. I think it would fare better, yes on the midway, and another one at their next hotel.

No the Greentree itself was still there, just the restaurant had changed. Whenever I went to CP with my fam we stayed there (when I went solo last year I stayed at the POS HoJo across the street, but I had an early flight outta Cleveland so it was cool). The last time we went as a fam (1997) they had 'Glow' bowling...basically bowling under strobelights...intersesting indeed.
