Jobs

I want to know does anyone want to have a job that deals with the theme parl/amusement business? If so can u tell me. Give details on hat is is you want to do.
For me, I just want to own my own theme park.
Derrick, LOL you sound just like me "I want to own my own theme park". My friend's always crack up when they see that episode of South Park where Cartman inherits a fortune and buys a theme park (or something like that) and then dosen't let anyone in so only he can ride the rides! That's exactally like me. I even say when I'm on the rides, in my best Cartman impression (which is nothing to hold a candle to, believe me) "I'm so happy!!! I'm SO HAPPY!" Lol!!

I used to think it would awesome to work at a park. I mean, you get to deal with the rides all day, ride them whenever you want, get into the park for free, and spend everyday of your summer in the park!

Well, I can honestly tell you that it is not all that cracked up to be. Here in NJ we had a water park called "Action Park" which has been bought out and is now called (I say now, it actually happened a while ago now) "Mountain Creek". I thought it would be peaches to work there, but it was anything but.

Let me tell you, it was horrific. Yeah, you get into the park for free but after about a week of working there I no longer wanted to spend my free time there. I didn't get to go on the rides whenever I wanted cause they had me working crazy long hours. I had to deal with the awfull summer heat, in the blazing sun, while wearing a standard uniform (usually a t-shirt and khaki pants.....very hot and stylish...) and on top of that I had to deal with pissy people all day.

It really is not all that it's cracked up to be. It's much better going there and enjoying your day in the park instead of watching other people enjoying their day in the park.

I would like to be a ride op, supervisor, or Guest Relations person. I would ultimately like to own a park, but I doubt it will happen

I was a ride op 2 seasons at CP and 12 months at IOA and they were the best jobs I've ever had. I never got tired of it.

I've noticed lately that I have a real problem with starting my sentances with, "When I worked at Cedar Point..." or, "When I worked at Universal Studios..." It can get annoying, even to myself. I am currently looking for a full-time non-seasonal job at a park here in PA.

I wanted to own a park when I was a kid, but as I grew up I realized for me it was just a pipe dream. Good luck to you.

I think, no I know I can handle having a theme park. I just love everything about theme parks and beyond. People in my neigborhood and friends in school support me when I tell them what I want to do so I'm a try my best to achieve it. Finding out what new attractions and ect. to put in the park and what goals my park can achieve is my dream. Seeing people have a great day in my park is a great moment for me. When my park is made, if this site is still here, I tell ya'll or you'll find out for yourself. Just remeber my name, Derrick Whitsett.
