Jester

I was just wondering, why did this former "Joker's Revenge" not run during the 2002 season at Fiesta Texas? Also, will the trains still run backwards at Six Flags New Orleans and what color will it be now. Thanks for any information.

I can answer that Jester wil still run backwards....as for your other questions....

Can you say big lawsuit? There was an article in People Magazine about a women who got hurt on the ride, and I believe she's having memory problems etc. and now she's suing.

Although this is a crappy picture, it looks like Jester will be green:

Jester will be green tracked with blue supports . The popular rumor here in the New Orleans area is that one train will run backwards and one forwards. We will see soon. Vertical contstruction is scheduled for this weekend.
Thanks for the info. I know this is one of two "Hurricane" models and I was wondering that since the other one runs forwards, shouldn't Jester be able to as well, or is it not capable for some reason. It would be really cool if it got new trains with lapbars or "X" style butterfly restraints.
Wasn't the pending lawsuit. The trains needed repair badly ont he axles and Fiesta couldn't shell out money from the budget for it so it sat idle.

Cheaper that way.

The tracks are lime green and the supports are a bright blue (ala Deja Vu). One train is blue with green stripes and the other just the opposite.

Here is a better photo of the track:

All indications are that it will indeed run backwards. Locals are hopeful that they will run one forwards and one backwards. Only time will tell.

I rode Jester when it was at Festia Texas and truly it was an alright coaster. I think that Six Flags should have put in an impressive coaster, not the biggest but one that would make people say I want to go there.

Sweetspeed, wouldn't you say Batman: The Ride is an impressive coaster? That alone will draw guests, but including Jester in the lineup makes SFNO's inaugural year that much better.

Take a ride...

I lived in San Antonio all my life and I rode the Jokers Revenge at Fiesta Texas every week it was open. The first year it opened it was a terrific ride, but 2 years later the ride started getting really rough for some reason. Not just regulary rough either. It hurt! It got to the point where people there refused to ride it because it would give people headaches and pains. I also found myself trying to plant my head as hard as i could into the headrest to keep from being subject to the trauma the coaster puts you through. It felt more intense thaqn a woodie! I think the same history is in store for SFNO though. Within 4 or so years, attendance will just slow to a hault on that ride even if the park is totally packed. It's really sad that that has to happen but I mean c'mon... it's Vekoma...
Maybe after it's refurbishment they'll get at least one good year out of the ride.

On the plus side, it freed up a lot of space at Fiesta for something better (anything is better).
