Jeff's Knowledge...

Way back before CCI went bust, Jeff said he knew of 2 things that would greatly disappoint enthusiasts. CCI went bust, and now the Whizzer/Shockwave ordeal is going on. I know one was CCI, have we yet heard about the other thing?

The other thing didn't come to pass, thankfully.

Well in CCI's case, Maybe they didn't pay their website bill?

In the other case, It's called AmusementBuissness.com.

If it didn't come to pass do we get to know? ;)

Yeah, come on Jeff. If it "didn't come to pass", what's the harm in telling now?

Only time will tell, unless someone decides to not hold their tongue. (but that's doubtful)

Why do you believe Jeff more than the next guy? He's been wrong before... ;) J

Come on. Tell us another one! =^P

I don't believe it's rocket science here folks. If Jeff tells us the second "disappointing event", whats to say he would know the next major announcement. Remember that little quote..."Those who know...?" Let it go, and move on...

-Mikey

I like to be surprised with an announcement anyways and not have it show up somewhere in the middle of the forums and when that does happen, its false a lot of the times. Mmm... Surprise factor... I know parks that haven't tried that in over a decade.

** Edit: I completely agree with that freakylick and I've seen it happen quite a few times on the Buzz. Usually, you know when they're lying though and luckily I know who I can trust (unless they pull an April Fools joke especially involving Splash Mountain ;)).

Yes I do remember that little quote....I also know that those who pretend to know, don't always tell either....It's so much easier to say that your right, if no one else knew what you "knew".

Happy Coastering!

I will place my bet that the "second thing that would greatly disappoint enthusiasts" was probably the proposed removal of the Whizzer at SFGAm.

I won't go into a lot of details, but the other news had to do with some potential law suits that didn't materialize becuase the issues were resolved out of court.

I was talking with someone from [industry entity here] yesterday and was telling her how much fun it was to be "in the know" and have a lot of contacts around the business, but at the same time frustrating because you can't really share stuff if you expect to maintain those contacts. I mean, what good does it do to know if you can't tell?

But then there are instances where I'm asked to leak stuff either to quiet rumors or generate a little hype. That's a lot of fun. ;)

At the end of the day though, I really wish people would not make this site about me. My name might be on the domain contact, but this site is about the information and community the members create. That's the stuff I'm most interested in.

Aww. *hem*

So that's kool how you can leak stuff by quiet rumors and such. I guess that's what you're doing with Cedar Point's new coaster for next year right?? I've seen you post atleast twice either here or GTTP saying:

"Cedar Point isn't getting a coaster??..........Mwuhahahahaha!!!"

And it also makes it fun for us to try to "guess" what each of these allowed tidbits mean. Yes, it DOES generate hype on the boards, among enthusiasts, and eventually it filters down to friends and family. Free hype and advertising. what more could a park want?

For the most part, being "in the know" is extremely annoying because you get in trouble even if you drop subtle hints.

For example, I was recently leaked some information I wasn't really supposed to have, but was told not to say anything. The info is SO juicy and fun that I couldn't help but drop a few hints a few weeks ago. I was reamed for it big time. Now I have to just wait for it all to play out, in which case no one will ever believe that I knew. Sigh...

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

hmmmmm, I think to some people leaking information is a pride issue, "I was the first to know!"

Honestly, most of us could careless who was first, we just all want to know..
