Jack Rabbit 2 at Clementon

I'm not in favor of changing the name but I can kinda see the park's perspective on it. Many people get really uptight about certain things and it might be wise for the park to not risk any ill will or bad press.

I guess I want to direct my "making fun" to an overly sensitive and ignorant society rather then against the park which is probably just trying to avoid offending anybody.

I'm all for offending people but I'm not risking my business by doing so :)

As far as names go, they could have done a lot better then J2. Why don't they keep the Jack Rabbit name where it belongs (and fix it up instead of tearing it down while they're at it) and find a different name for Tsunami. How about "The Wave?" That way they can keep a lot of the graphics, keep the slogan and piggyback their marketing to the Jersey Shore!

While I agree that the name absolutely sucks, I'm more concerned about rumors of the ride being tamed during the off season with trims, reprofiling, etc. Anyone heard any of the latest on this? I didn't get a chance to ride it last fall (will this spring) and it sounds like the type of woodie that I like, ie very aggressive. I would hate to see the ride debut this season with both a tamer name and a tamer ride experience.
No taming... don't worry.
As of current time no taming has been planned. Work is going to be done on the second hill, but have not heard of any trimming yet....but there is plenty of time.

big things for 2008-2010!
lol nice name...and yeah i bet they may be doing some work on the second hill since they were fixing a support beam the day I was there on that second hill.

Watch the tram car please....
Whew! Thanks for the update guys;)
Can they trim the ride? I don't remember too many straight sections of track where a trim could be added.
They'll just have to install skid brakes then ;)
Yeah... and the ratcheting lap bars, seatbelts and headrests will magically disappear ;)
How dare all of you for posting all those sarcastic ride names. The tsunami was a serious situcation and should not be made fun of, many people lost there lives and i think that the name change is good, it will help people who have lost relatives or friends in the tsunami (one of those persons is ME)...shame on you all who posted those stupid names...and no im no using SARCASM! *** Edited 3/11/2005 10:00:53 PM UTC by Colin Fisher***
First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss, Colin. My thoughts go out to your family who was obviously affected by that horrible event. But in defense of the people that posted in this thread, I think everyone is picking on the new name that was chosen for the ride and not the name Tsunami, which happened to be selected for the ride long before the recent disaster.
whoa colin sorry for your loss. ease back on the coffee. *** Edited 3/12/2005 5:26:12 PM UTC by Jswiga***
