I've been bitten by the DDR bug!

I went to the mall about a week ago and saw that there was a new arcade there. Right smack dab in the front were 2 DDR Extreme machines. Unfortunately, I had never played and wasn't yet bitten, so I just moved on. Sitting in the food court, an employee of the arcade approached me and gave me free tokens (23 to be exact) to the arcade for some reason. I gladly accepted, but didn't use them that day because we had to leave.

Anyways, we went back to the arcade today because I wanted to spend my tokens. So, first thing - I decided to spend 4 of the tokens in the DDR machine. So I hit beginner and then off I went. The music just kinda flooowed and I started moving my feet. I was in a weird parallel world, where the only thing that existed was my feet and the arrows moving up the screen. I got pretty good at it. Me and my friend challenged this guy we met and I beat him! I actually had a small crowd watching me.

So all of my money was spent on DDR. What a great workout, also. I went back a little later and saw this one kid doing the MOST difficult. This was a true sight to see. He didn't miss one, and his legs just kept moving. It looked like his legs were flying! Jeez, I hope I can get that good one day... I can't wait to go back there and do some more.

So there's my DDR trip report I thought I'd share. I just had to get my feelings out there about this incredible game. :)

In six months, you're going to post something about how you saw some kid playing some "impossible" song six months ago, but you just AA'ed it. Then you'll be adding your list of catas passed to the "progress reports" thread. :) Good luck!

Oh yes it's one of the best workouts ever, not to mention a good stress reliever. Luckily there is one in the mall just a little down the road from me.

I play it a little at CP and PKI when I feel like it, but once you get started you can't stop!!! The other day I had some time to kill at the mall and before I knew it I had spent all my money. I was having a horrible, stressful day but I felt like a million bucks afterwards. I still lean toward the beginner's to light though, but I am getting faster. LOL.

I think more people should try it. Actually there should be one in every home. There would be less health problems and a less need for prozac or drugs. lol.

If everybody had one the gyms, a lot of doctors, psychiatrists and weight loss centers would go out of business. There would be less need for medical assistance, and health insurance costs would go down simply because people are much healthier and happier now with their personal DDR's (ok, I know I am getting carried away here....lol)

The people that manufacture diet drugs would go out of business in a heartbeat, and there would be no need for ritalin or any other crap that you shouldn't be giving your kids anyway....they can take out their aggressions on their DDR' s

;-)

Best of all though, it's FUN! Once the bug bites it's GOTCHA!
