Universal Orlando has developed a "Conductor of the Day" experience in its Islands of Adventure theme park, during which a child gets to be the "honorary conductor" of the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley.

Sounds similar to the rope drop at Magic Kingdom. While a neat idea, not sure the news worthiness of it.. I think Disney has long since mastered the art of immersion of the guests into the Magic. Every other park is basically taking a chapter from it.
But it is definitely an effective tool to give the guests a full experience, and glad to see it morphing in different ways at different parks.
