Is thorpe park the number 1 hype at the moment?

on the whole I agree with you Wilko, but I think we're of this opinion simply because we're not used to paying additional parking charges at Parks in the UK. At certain US parks this is nothing new so no-one comments, in a few years it will be the norm here to so just we just have to get used to it! I dont think Alton is the only money grabbing park either, £7 per ride at Blackpool now- thats $10 if there's any americans still reading this topic!!

Aren't they building a waterpark soon?

The way I got to Alton Towers was by train and taxi.

I'm sure you must have been exaggerating a little, but do they really not have any security? I just wouldn't think that would be possible with such a large park.

TOGO!
Vekoma!

There is security at Towers, but as with all British parks as recently demonstrated at Chessington, its minimal & ineffective.

alton towers are building a kind of water park. its actually a second hotel with the UKs largest water park enclosed in it. and it is possible to get to AT by train and taxi, but it costs so much, and with the state of british rail i wouldnt count ever getting to the park on time. in fact, there isnt even a train or bus that can get you to the park if you have XRT!

and i also think security in UK parks is appaling. you just have to look at the amount of graffiti, 'gang' behaviour and Q jumping to see something must be done. thorpe parks security during the fright nites was amazing, why not have it like that all year round, especially if you are paying more and more money every season.
