Is this Possible or even Legal??

Lets dream for a sec here. Lets say you won a multi Million DOllar Lottory. Money being no object!! If you had the land would it be legal to build a coaster of your own. Would it be possible or legal to have your own coaster. No real reason, just wondering. (Wouldnt it suck if say Bill gates built a coaster taller, faster, better than Millinnium Force and Kept it all to himself)
I cant see any reason to prohibit you from doing this. The only possible snag I see is trying to meet/change the local height restrictions. This seems to be the problem that most parks have when building mega + coasters. Otherwise, whether you build a coaster or a greenhouse after obtaining the building permits, you should be all good.
I'm not positive about this, but there are probably zoning laws about that in a residential neighborhood. It would probably break some noise ordinances, also. Not that I wouldn't try. :)
It is perfectly legal. Why wouldn't it be?!? But the only promblem is that you would have to have insurance to cover it.
Hey, Micheal Jackson has done it!
Sure you could build one, but they cost a lot of money to keep running. You'd have to start charging admission to your house when your family comes and visits. ;)
Of course you said money is no object. Please disregard my last post. :)
My husband and I have decided that if we ever win an incredible PowerBall lottery we're going to build a park. We even have the site picked out, and it's in a relatively high-traffic area that needs a serious tourism & economic boost. We'll get CCI to build a Woodie for the inaugural season and then add coasters from there.

Now I just gotta start playing the lottery! haha
i want to say that you would have to consult your local goverment for the ordinaces that are in affect there. if there is none you could go ahead i suppose if you were in the desert with no one around i dont know who would stop you from doing it what people dont know cant hurt them hehehe.
Like Jacob said, city ordinaces would prohibit building a roller coaster in one's back yard, if in a residential area. Residential areas are zoned for that purpose only, any other use of that property would require rezoning of the land and permits to build a new structure, which no city is going to allow, nor would your neighbors. But like coaster master said, if you live in the desert with no one else around, who will care!
