Is This A Revival Of Drachen Fire??

On my recent visit to BGW(see TR), I Took the train ride that passes the old lonesome ride, Drachen Fire. But what i saw made me drop my jaw! Heres the scoop.
1)- I looked closely, and half of the ceiling fans were on.
2)- As we approached, i spotted a truck driving in from what looked like behind festhaus. It stopped by the lift, and two men in business-casual suits and a mechanic got out. The suited men were looking, talking, and pointing, especially towards the birds nest on the corkscrew. The mechanic guy was writing down on paper as the men spoke.
3)- As the train rounded by the corkscrew-wingover element, i spotted the mechanic climbing up to the trim break before it. He appereds to be checking bolts, but i couldnt see much more after that because the trees blocked.

I really hope they open the ride again. It looks so ferotious, but it must be cool. Does anybody else know anything??

Word around here in Williamsburg is that the coaster may reopen in 2002 with new trains. I've heard plenty of rumors, but I don't know if any are true. About what you saw it could be promising, or it might not be anything new. BGW has always contended that they continue to maintain the coaster so that it could reopen within a month if they decided to do so. The activity you saw could just be some of this routine maintanence or it could be the beginning of preparations to reopen. I sure hope it is.

I beg you BGW reopen this coaster. This is one of my favorite rides and I'm willing to do almost anything to get another ride on it.

I can't imagine them not re-opening it just because of the fact that they have kept it up so long. Running or not it is still going to cost a good deal of money for up-keep. So unless they have been expecting to have it to re-open then why would they keep it up. I hope to go there next year and I really hope they have it running again because it looks like a great coaster and looks like it would be amazing without OSTR's.

That would be awesome if DF opened again. By the sounds of it, BGW people are testing the ride and checking on the status of the ride. I think that the ride might open next year.

Let's keep our fingers crossed. I hope they do open it, though I've never ridden it nor even been to the park -- I can't stand the idea of any coaster SBNO! If it does open, I'll definately take a road trip.

That sounds cool, I've never been to BGW, but I might just take a trip next year, especialy if Drachen Fire opens again.
