is there any hype over Ricochet?

I am wandering just how PKD will benefit from this ride, It adds to the Roller Coaster count but along with its cool rides, it also should be called the park with too amny very short rides.  Is this new Ricochet something good or just another family, minimum thrill mouse coaster that is very short.
If konw of the Fly at Canda's Wonderland, that's what it will be like. In other words it's just a regular mouse with hairpin turns and drops except with a 50 ft. drop at the beginning. Souns like fun :)

First off (not trying to sound mean) what wild mouse coaster isn't short or "very short?" I think all Wild Mouses are suppose to be like that.

Secondly, "minimum thrill ride mouse coaster?" I dunno about you but I LOVE wild mouse coasters. They are fast and pack they pack a punch on every turn and drop (the big ones at least, not the ones at the beginning of the ride). You have to get out the DCA to ride Mulholland Madness. THAT'S a Wild Mouse coaster.

Lastly, I am inda excited about it. Im suppose to head out east nextsummer and hit a lot of the parks and PKD and PK are two of them. Tht will be intresting to ride. Are  they the same layout? That's all I have to say.

Why don't we wait until it opens (in March or April) and then talk about it?

Well ravenguy98, I'm trying to make a point that Va-coaster is asking some questions which are hard to answer, until we actually ride it.

Coasters are like a fine wine, they get better with age.

Hype over Ricochet?  SHOULD there be?  Not dissing Paramount's decision-making (OK, maybe I am), but they wanted a family-oriented ride, and a coaster, and minimal expenditures.  These rides fit the bill.  Now for the dissing part---IF you're going to build a "wild mouse" coaster, why not build a WILD mouse?  Reverchon RULES, all others PALE in comparison...

i got the pleasure of goin twice to PKD closing weekend, and i got a good look at Ricochet so far....they had quite a bit completed actually.  i can tell you this...from what it looks like, its goin to be a pretty awesome coaster actually :)  the first drop is REALLY nice, exceptional fora  mouse, and from the way the supports are positioned, theyre are goin to be a lot of turns and stuff....which may mean a higher capacity than most mouse coasters.  well see....but i dont think we are goin to be dissapointed :)

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!
Personally, I love wild mouse coasters. They do pack a punch, and the hairpin turns are the best part. But, like rollergator said, if you want a real wild mouse coaster, then build a reverchon. The Exterminator at KW is one of the best wild mouse costers around. The mouse at Hershey isn't too bad either.

The only thing that I am mad about for this ride is that it is very low capacity. Most of PKD's coasters are low capacity, which upets me greatly. Volcano runs two trains with 2 abreast and 8 rows and is low capacity. Everybody knows that Hypersonic is low capacity. FoF is pretty low also, but not as bad as V:BC or H:XLC. Then there is Avalanche, and finally, the worst of all Shockwave (king of low capacity).

Almost all of PKD's coasters are fun and great coasters except that they don't carry enough riders, which makes waits pretty long. I wish PKD would be more like Cedar Point and put in coasters that allow many more passengers per hour. That is my only complaint about Riccohet, that it is very low capacity. I think about 900 passengers per hour, which is pretty low, and that is without any stacking trains.

I agree Ace about their low capacity problem.  I think they should build a B&M hyper to solve this problem.
