I really, REALLY, REALLY want to ride Screechin' Eagle, and obviously if Lesourdsville is close that wil be hard fr me. Does anyone know anything about the status other than SBNO?

I am not sure what is going on but I wouldn't expect the park to open this year.

I just checked out the park's website and it's says it's "closed indefinitely". There is an active forum so you may want to check that out.

I fell in love with the park the one and only time I visited in 2002 so I hope to see it reopen ASAP. I am just as anxious as anyone else. The Eagle is one of my favorite woodies and I hate seeing it SBNO. It's an airtime lover's dream! :-)

Please note that the above website is an unofficial website. :)

The park's official website has been suspended although the website of Couch's Campers (Mr. Couch is the owner of the park) still mentions Lesourdsville Lake - sort of.

You check out the discussion boards at www.americanaamusementpark.com and maybe you'll find out some info. Probably not for reasons you'll discover when you visit ;)

It's a really neat park and I really enjoyed my two visits in 2002. Screechin' Eagle is arguably the best woodie in Ohio.

I doubt it would close for good with all the work that was put into it.

The "unofficial" website has some AWESOME historical photos of it's past and present rides, including photos of the Screechin Eagle when it was at Moxahalia Park.

Very cool!

I don't think there's too many people that would argue against that!

Chaindog - Villian is a strong competitor. The rest aren't even close! :)

The best woodies in the state are just outside of Middletown and in Aurora. Don't ask me to rank them against each other though.

Come to think of it, I would say that both coasters just outside of Ross are excellent too. :):)

Wood - anything else is an imitation

Why do people say the best woodie in Ohio is the Eagles? I am shocked no one has mentioned the Beast yet. Yeah, I want The Lake to open soon, mainly because I have never been there.

StXBomber, you just have to experience it to truly appreciate the Eagle. Personally I would take the Screechin Eagle over most of the other woodies in Ohio. ;-) The Beast excluded.

I would take the Eagle over most (but not all mind you) woodies, period.

The Beast is nowhere near the Best Coaster in Ohio. Its down on that list. Villian is the only one IMO that can compare to Screeching Eagle. The Beast is maybe about halfway on the list MAYBE. Beast may be a great design but SE has a ton of airtime and laterals as well. Plus the freedom of the single lapbar is nice too. SE is a gem that needs to be exprenced to be believed.

Hi.....whats your name again?

It's strange to hear all of this Villain love all of the sudden. It's been dissed so much, and now all of this talk about it being near the best woodie in Ohio(granted, mainly people just hate those trains though).

Of course you all know what I think is the best woodie in Ohio.:)

Well, I like SE and The Beast the same, but for VERY different reasons. The "rest" of the Ohio coasters dont' even come close. ;-)

SE just totally BLEW away my expectations, which were already high.

It is good to see Villian get some positive attention with all the SFWOA bashing that has been going on recently. :-D

"Dare to fly"....or at least get some wild ejector air...ride in the back, and the Eagle will MAKE you fly. The return leg...:)

And since you're already trying to get some good pics, make sure to ride the sack slide...

Somehow, the park will reopen, although I'm becoming less hopeful for THIS year....there's got to be someone who can make money operating this place if the day I was there was any indication...

bill, only gotten Villain on the one day a few years back, and was VERY pleased...just a different feel to get to ride at a traditional park...

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Oh Villian rocked when it was brand new. Now it's, um............OK. It's got it's own love thread now so...:-)

LeSourdsville's site also has a nice survey asking people what they wanted to see in the park. Of course I voted "I would be happy just to see it open".

I really doubt it will open this year, but we can only hope.
