Is SOB Open?

As I was dropping of my children for a day at PKI. They are teenagers, so hold off on the "parks are not babysitters" rhetoric please. I noticed that SOB had trains running the circuit. With my old man eyes I could not see if anyone was on board, and I am not sure my kids will try to ride it. They, like most others, find it unbearable.

Can anyone who has visited this weekend report if it is any better?

Thanks.

Yep its open now. Reports say that the ride is much better and the only spot that really have any significant roughness is parts of the rose bowl. People have also been saying its worth reriding now.

Now I just hope it stays this way.

I hope it stays that way too....but I doubt it will last a month. Why? I bet those stupid trains will make short work of whatever improvements were made.

Can I get some links to these reports? All I've heard is second hand stuff.
Check the trip report forums on PKI Central or Extreme PKI. There's a few from yesterday and probably some from today as well.

Let's hope it lasts more than a month.

I am off to Europe (and a side trip to Tivoli) tomorrow and won't be back until mid June. I would hate to miss a chance to enjoy my "home" park's pseudo signature ride in good form.

Thanks.

One thing I noticed was the "jack hammering" effect is almost gone. I always sit on the second rows anyway but did always had this jack hammering. They were practically gone.

I wonder how cedar fair will treat the sob situation now that it is there problem?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I don't understand why people seem to think the Cedar Fair is going to "fix" or "make worse" any particular ride problems. It's not like Cedar Fair has its own training facility for maintenance people and then ships them around the country. I bet the same people that have been maininting rides like Beast and SOB will continue to do so. The only possible changes would be high level decisions like to replace trains/etc.
