Is Six Flags moving into the Land Down Under

Just a rumor that I was told that Six Flags are looking to build a park in Australia.  Either in Sydney or on the Gold Coast.  Anyone heard anything on this???

Maybe they will buy Luna Park intead.

I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake
I don't think they would as there is not a lot of room for any expansion and the Luna Park site is currently under redevelopment and going to a smaller type operation anyway.

Maybe Wonderland Sydney?

I'm just guessing. The last park they built new was Six Flags Over Mid-America (SFStL). But with the size and population of Australia, they just might give it a try.

It would probably be a really good market for them. "Hop on over to Six flags Outback"...I can just see it now...hehe.

Don't they own, Movie World or land?

Six Flaggs allready own a couple of Movie Worlds in other countries but not the Australian version

How about Six Flags building a park in Australia and base its theming around Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter)?

Steve Irwin already has his own little "patch of dirt" up on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.  Not a bad little wildlife park either, well worth a look and a laugh.  I can tell you that he is the same in person in real life as he is on the T.V.  Very funny bloke.

You met him in real life too Wayne? Lol, I have met his wife twice, and I've seen his crocodile shows at "Australia Zoo"

Anyway, Six Flags would I'm sure be looking at moving down here, another park along the highway to the Gold Coast is just what we need! Also, with the financial backing of the worlds largest theme park chain, I see, not only a lot of clones, but some real competition among the Gold Coast parks! S&S towers at Seaworld, Intamin Woodie at Dreamworld... SOMETHING crazy at Movie World.

They could go for Sydney as a possibility, but not take over Wonderland. Wonderland is doing fine, and Sunway wouldn't sell. They might build some competition for it but, which means maybe they will get that long awaited hypercoaster!

Australian

That would be great. Like Richard said, Six Flags Sydney would give WLS some competition. IMO, WLS needs a kick up the bum to build more coasters - their last was in '91.

Here I am wishing DW was my homepark & not WLS :).  DW was going the way of WLS until WBMW was built & sparked intense competition bewteen the two.
