Is SFDL ever gonna get a new coaster?

It has been to long since SFDL has got a new Coaster. I feel that SFDL has been neglected by SF when it comes to rides. There is only one actual good coaster at SFDL. Everyone knows that that is S:ROS. But, even S:ROS has been cloned. Two of their other coasters are clones also and Predator is in such bad shape that after I get off it I can't walk because of my back. I just want to know if there are any rumors out there about what SFDL might be getting, if anything at all.

There is a rumor of a Wild Mouse for next year.

why does everyone say that SF is neglecting a park when it doesn't bring the people in. S:RoS and the SF brand obviously didn't bring what was expected.

it is sad that they havnt gotten a new coaster because i live about two hours away from SFDl and i love the Superman. But in up coming summers we( people i go to theme parks with)decided not to go there due to the lack of coasters. We have been going to Cedar Point lately. In reply to Matt k H's response about the Predator, that ride can send you to the hospital

It can send you to the hospital.. but its still fun :)

It's [the predator] fun to those only who are wooden die-hards, or who find the right seat on the ride that will not cause broken ribs or fractured skulls!!

At the very least, The Superman: Ride Of Steel still ranks in within the top 10 steel coasters in the world from the Golden Ticket Award (Amusement Today) poll.

There ARE rumors that Six Flags Darien Lake is getting an Arrown Fourth Dimension roller-coaster, since people are speculating that Six Flags has already purchased a couple of them for the coming season(s) to be installed on an East Coaster park. Since Worlds of Adventure already got a Vekoma Flying Dutchman, and they are most likely planning a hyper for next season, that rules out the most likely park.

Six Flags New England has been rumored for a 140' coaster, and that might be the long awaited B&M stand-up, or similar. The Great Escape is a slim possibility, but doubtful because it might not fit in that kind of theming/atmosphere just yet. And I don't think New Jersey is also one of contention... so that left Darien Lake!

Either way, there are a number of rumors for SFDL floating around. Just check some of the other coaster net sites... there's even a wild speculation with the [For Sure] waterpark expansion, there might be a Super Saturator Coaster put in there as well... but two coasters in one year on a park not centrally populated?? That's proposterous!!! (well, it's a dream!)

i heard tht they were supposed to get three new atractions for next year. they didnt say what or anything about them.

but people complaining about SFDL, you guys are forgeting the park about 1 1/2 hours away from it. PCW. if it got superman i would die. i would trade the 12 family coasters we have for your 5 coasters in a second!!! all the airtime on all 12 of PCWs coasters dont match the airtime on superman. combine superman with PCWs drop zone and you'll NEVER get bored. every coaster enthusiast should donate 5 dollars to PCW to get a new good ride. cause they deserve it more then 95% of the parks out there.

SFDL has long been neglected by SF. I was at the park 2 weeks ago on a Monday, the park there were no lines to the rides. The longest I waited was 45min, for SROS. Predator was closed, apparent problems with the lap bars. Also closed was boomerang, for what reason I have no idea. SFDL doesn't get the people, because of no new coasters or flat rides that they are in desperate need of. Build the rides and the people will come. I live 30min from the park, I generally go to the park once a year and then spend my time going to PCW about 2 1/2 hrs. away and I make a yearly trip to CP about 5hrs. away, better coasters and better selection of rides. Hopefully SF will invest in DL for 2002, they badly need new rides.

I think SFDL needs a new coast badly. But, before SFDL gets anything, SFAW and SFEG need new coasters! We all know why SFAW needs a new one, but SFEG is so neglected, a park such as SFDL is mentioned more. SFEG really, REALLY needs a new rides! SFEG's last rides were in 1999 (Boomerang, whoopdy-fu**ing-doo) and in 1997 (Mind Eraser, an SLC, whoopdy-fu**ing-doo-number-two). AT LEAST SFDL has a number #6 steel (2001 Golden Ticket Awards) S:ROS! SFEG has NOTHING to the point where I actually believe that SFAW is less in need because of their 3 Schwarzkopf's (R.I.P. my homie!:’( All people who dare to call themselves coaster enthusiests mourn your death!). SFEG, SFAW, and SFDL in desperate need from most hoplessly desperate to least desperate. 'Nuff said!

I got a question for ya, "Is SFEG ever gonna get a new coaster?" SFEG last coaster was a Boomerang, and SFDL's last coaster was a Intamin hypercoaster. So STOP complaining because at least your park has a ride worth riding.

Once again if a park isnt centrally located or isnt bringing in a lot of people why give it new rides. Im tired of this whining "Our SF-- park isnt getting anything when SFWoA got 5 coasters in 2 years, and SFMM got 5 coasters in 3 years, SF-- is being neglected" SFMM,SFWoA,SFGadv. are the corporations "flagship" parks. Stop complaining and saying SF-- deserves a new ride, but SF is a corporation, they are there to make 1.make money 2.make people happy. So stop whining. SFEG is in colorado, there is no competition and no draw beacuse its a monopoly and cant get any more people. SFDL gets a lot of people, but not that many, if an intamin hyper isnt helping a park i dont know what could. SFAW is also a monopoloy in its area, all they are competing with is itself, Six Flags. Did you notice something, each SF flagship park is by a CF park or a major tourist destianation. SO once again stop ya whining!

Well, you can narrow the rumors a tad bit, as the announced northern SetPoint water-coaster has now been announced for Hershey Park (see http://www.hersheypark.com/watercoaster.html).

when you go to SFDL the park is deserted except for the superman line. i went there during the rain during school, and they had 1 train operation on superman. it was a 5 train wait. prob about 20 minutes. the other 4 coasters had no one in line at anytime during the day. i mean no one. you could sit where ever you wanted without a train wait. without superman the park would be garbage. it would be SFEG. with another good coaster it would bring more people in, would take people away from superman. put it on the other side of the park, so you see people walking from superman to the other good coaster.
