Is Sea World Orlando worth it?

I',m going to Florida soon and already plan on going to IOA but I was wondering it is worth the money to go to Sea World to ride Kraken.  Also if anyone has gone lately, how long are the waits usually during the winter season?
Its a good coaster. I think that it is worth the money to go to Seaworld but don't just ride Kraken. Ride journey to Atlantis, See the whale show, And visit the key west. section of the park. The wait during the winter is almost nonexistent except for Saturday and Sunday when its about 10 min.

Go.  It's a really cool experience.  There are animals there that you will only get to see at Sea World in your whole life.

Sea World is a very good park. The shows are all worth seeing, especially Cirque du la mer (sp?) and the sea lion show. And there are many people who think Kraken is the best in Florida.

Without the chaindog, you'd never get up the lifthill...
Kraken has short lines during the off-season, the most you nay have to wait is like 20-30 minutes which is nothing compare to the line it gets during peak season.

These estimates seem really high to me, but I go on "sick" days during the week.  Usually a walk-on during the "winter" for all but the front...JTA is pretty good, too.  Overall I'd make IOA and BGT the priority spots for rides...

When we went on a Friday in July, the waits were:
Kraken-walk on to 10 minutes(11 rides)
Journey to Atlantis-25 to 40 minutes(3 rides)
Motion simulator-45 minutes(1 ride)
All the shows and other "rides" should be fairly easy to get into and the waits should definitely be a lot lower than July. Kraken is probably my favorite sitdown looping coaster and a work of art from any coaster perspective. Journey to Altantis is also a top of the line water adventure and has some corny effects, but a few surprises as well. The motion simulator I would skip if it looks anywhere near my time. If you like sea life and watching some interesting and sometimes hilarious shows, this would be a park I wouldn't want to miss. And of course, there's Kraken again!

I agree with rollergator that BGT and IOA are the most important stops in Florida as far as thrill rides go. It only took us an hour to get the BGT from the Disney resorts, so I don't think it's too far out of the way if you have a choice.

I went last February(and going again this February) and both Kraken and Journey to Atlantis were walk ons. I rode Kraken like 20 - 25 times. It is in my top 5. The rest of the park is awesome. There are not many places outside of scuba diving that you can touch stingrays and dolphins. The shark exhibit is way cool and the Shamu show is probably the best amusement park show I have ever been to.

This is the one park I hit everytime I am in Orlando.

Cheers,

My wife and I just got back from Florida. We spent the whole Thanksgiving weekend there. Sea World is not to be missed! Kraken is great, my new favorite floorless! If you like sea life you won't want to leave. We waited 10 minutes for the third row, and 45 for the front. Have a great time, we did!
My kids and I went to Sea World expecting to spend half a day and wound up closing the park.  It has a few excellent rides, but the sea life is really the star and goes far beyond what you see at most other sea life parks.
You should definitely go. I just got back from Florida today. I went to SWO on Tuesday and the lines were short or none at all. The longest line was like 5 minutes for Kraken and that was with one train. JTA never really had a line. Kraken is my favorite floorless, it is really fun. JTA is a great water ride and it doesnt get you too wet. Terrors of the Deep is pretty cool and I liked Penguin Encounter. I hear Clyde & Seamore is a good show, it was closed for repairs when I went. Dolphin Cove is cool because the dolphins go right by you. I got to pet one. If you like animals you should go. If you don't like animals, you should still probably go, JTA nad Kraken are very good rides.

I think that Sea World is worth it because of the roller coaster Kraken. And it's worth it if you are not even into rollercoaster and are into animals Sea World is for you.
