I'm finally going to Universal and IOA! I can't wait 'til January!
As for other sites, there are several that are quite enthusiastic aboutt he game and show no signs of slowing down soon.

There's tons of peeps at those sites. It's. Not. Dead.
Also, this AmazingEarl dude will make you have to get a change of underwear after you check out what he's been doing for the community.

And lastly, ya can't credit RCT2's fan base going strong without ToonTowner's scenery, for, without them, the community would be like, 10x smaller.

So once again, the RCT Community is not dead. You just gotta look around for where all the action is at (so... not here, no offense).

There was a ton of new scenery but you couldn't use most of it with out hitting the scenry limits quick. If you chose to select your scenery thru the advanced mode you wouldn't get far down the list before you had maxxed.
Time Twister is worlds better but is still the same idea as wacky worlds. Rides make more sense this time in many cases(dino ride, hippie van, posieden ride) and many of the scenery items are better. You still have that pesky scenery limitation though and you make it a lot less far down the list this time.
Coasterbuzz games becoming a pay site didn't help Rct on this site either. My big reason for not joining was Jeff saying he didn't care if the site died. Great attitude. It's a club benefit. It's kinda like saying he doesn't care if you can't get your track record, you get pop ups,or if the club doesn't have a Cbuzz con this year.
Get over yourself.

Furthermore, I charge for the site because it was a pointless mess of crap generated by every 13-year old kid who had an AOL connection. Since the change to requiring club membership I'd say perhaps three people total signed-up for that purpose. If I decide to kill it I'll decide to kill it, and life will most certainly continue.

....obviously because i'm on there more often than anyone else, but thats not the point :)
Also, I no longer have to deal with helping out illiterate morons with no knowledge of the game they're playing.
I was doubtful at first, but now I KNOW Jeff made the correct decision.
And John, we get more than what we paid for. For around a nickle a day, we get more intelligent members, higher quality rides, more downloads, and a nice, peaceful place to go to after dealing with the troubles of a real life. To me, discussion boards are just a place to chill. After taking test after test, I just wanna come home and go to a nice little quiet place. Before the change, the games were NOT peaceful. Hell, I could almost hear Haw screaming "OMAR IS A GONCH LICKER!!1!1!11!!1". I like it better now. Plus, there's less rides to sort through, so I can check them all out.
Quit trying to stick up for us, John. Espicially since the best thing you can do for us is just shut up. I pay my *gasp!* nickle a day, and I got more then enough privlages to make up for it.
Just think about it man. ONE freakin nickle a day. Don't like it? Get a job, a life, or just shut up.
The community , of course , is the only thing keeping this game alive. The new(user created) rides , although extremely challenging and few , are usually amazing.Amazing Earl and buggy are really the only people you can rely on to make great rides always.
What everybody wants , of course , is for Freakin' Atari to give us the Hard Codes so we can create anything.
