Is it Possible....for Underwater Coasters??

I have to wonder who people would be evacuated from the tunnels in the event of an emergency or valley. I guess there would have to be stairs following the track that lead back above the water.

This would be cool in a custom-made situation with water that is virtually identical to a swimming pool (not authentic lakewater)!

Then again, it would probably cost more than the novelty would be worth.

I've often wondered what PKD does about flooding...

Actually it is very posible and a good idea...on paper.

I have to agree with the water color. When you think about it in your head, you see this crystal clear water with the sun glistening over you. But in reality, water will get very dirty. Cedar Point has greenish brown water.

Second is, what happens if there is a leak? You have a piece of track completly submerged. And what happens in winter if it leeks and freezes?

I say build a water tank, cover it and then send a coaster through it.

They have car tunnels that go completely underwater. it is definitely possible to do the same with a coaster

It could be like "The Living Seas" at EPCOT, only bigger, faster, and better.

Could Tidal Wave actually make a comeback? LOL. Why am I seeing detachable harnesses that double as life preservers?

A coaster underwater COULD happen, but it will most likely not in yours or my lifetime. You would have to have the entire course in a tunnel, and the only way to make it cool would be glass. And the chances of it cracking would most likely be too much to risk, not to mention it would require so much mantaince. It would have to be replaced every so often and that would cost a lot of money.
Atlantis - a very high end hotel/resort/casino in the bahamas - has a clear water slide that goes underwater, through a shark infested lagoon! (here's the site http://www.atlantis.com/ - the whole thing is flash so no direct link. Look under "water attractions") I think something like that would be amazing for a park, be it a roller coaster or some type of hyda coaster.
