Is Flashback Operating

I have heard people say they can never get on it because it is closed. How often does it operate and how is the ride.

Isn't it only open when Hurrican Harbor is closed?

Yeah thats what I thought. I've never been there but thats what people tell me.

According to staff at SFMM, Flashback does not operate on any day that Hurricane Harbor is open due to the fact that the lifeguards can't hear over it.

which does SQUAT to explain why it can't run after HH closes....or before it opened...

c'mon, 15 coasters should add up to 15....I was really *hoping* to ride all 15 during the Con.....once I KNEW about X, I was still hoping for 14 (the same as I have gotten at CP - Jr. Gemini.....other parkls have let us ride Kiddie coasters by riding 2-3 "adults" at a time, and I'm sure Goliath Jr. would've been the surprise "hit".....but Flashback's noticeable absence really was a surprise.....

Yeah, I was there 3 weeks ago and I realized that like 3 of their coasters were closed. So really they only had 12, but then, if you counted that Colossos was only running one train, then it would only be 11!! I'm sure glad they don't count Superman as 2! LoL.

If you really look at Cedar Point, they pretty much have 16 coasters! They don't even count Gemini as 2! And they actually race! I can't recall a day that any coaster, yeah ANY COASTER, was down for a day at Cedar Point. I really think after they get the rocket next year, they should just claim that they have 17. Because quite honestly they do. Then Magic Mountain could say they have 16 or 17 depending on if they get anything new, and counting S:TE.....but that would just be false advertising since a quarter of their rides dont even operate.

PS: When was the last time Ninja or Flashback operated? I was pretty upset that I could only get 11 coasters in 2 days there, cause thats all they had to offer!

Umm first its ColossUs not ColossOs the one with the o is an enormous one in Germany built by Intamin. 2nd Colossus is not counted as two for park with most rollercoasters its only counted as one.
Here's a list:
1. Flashback
2. Goliath
3. Goliath Jr.
4. Canyon Blaster
5. Colossus
6. Batman: The Ride
7. Riddler's Revenge
8. Gold Rusher
9. Psyclone
10. Deja Vu
11. Ninja
12. Superman: The Escape
13. Viper
14. X
15. Revolution
(Yes count em 15 seperate rollercoasters as I said Colossus is not counted as 2)
Yes I know that during GRP back in 2000 (I think) they counted it as two for diffrent rides. Here's why the rode during Fright Fest when Colossus runs one side in reverse (the only time the ride can race two, more in a sec). The reason Guiness counted it as two is because it was not only a diffrent experience but its's diffrent trains (B&M's from Psyclone as apposed to the Morgan's I think they have on normally) So Guiness voted and ruled it a second ride. Thats the only time it's been considered 2 rides. And 3rd Colossus doesn't race because they don't want it to, it doesn't race because it literally rips itself apart. It's one of the side effects that the mis-assembled original trains (they were about 1 1/2 tons overweight) had on the ride at opening. So if they run both Morgan trains simultaneously the wood can't support it. But when you run one Morgan and one B&M train roughly simultaneously your happy as a peach! Thank you!

How loud is Flashback? PCW and Morey's Piers (amoung others) have coasters that inter-twine with water slides and they seem to have no problems...

How about an unnamed giga-coaster that was closed down for a short period of time, including during an event that was named after it, which paying customers would get ERT on it, but the roller coaster ended up not being open. And (this is going way back), Mean Streak was closed back in early June of 1998, because it valleyed due to the (over) braking, but I don't go to Cedar Point often, so I can't report on any more. So even, the highly thought of Cedar Point isn't perfect.

Anyway, Flashback was open everyday, before Hurricane Harbor opened for the season. And once in a blue moon they will open it after HH closes for the night, but have only seen this happen twice.

Last time I was at SFMM, which was early August, Ninja was running fine, It runs consistently during the summer, atleast it has all of the times I have been there during the summer, but it has trouble in the winter, because that ride, and cold do not mix.

MF6279, I wasn't there for the MM event at CP, but from what I read, the park went OUT of their way to try and make up for it (VertiGo, anyone?).....and WT was down all day for CoasterMania....my point is that CP isn't perfect, perfect isn't a REASONABLE goal....but if you don't even shoot for the stars, you'll never leave the ground!

Flashback really should be MOVED! (It is relatively "portable", and I can't take one more trip to CA and miss this sucker again...)...
