Is California Adventure Worth it?

I will be in California in September and was wondering if it is worth going to this park?

I'm not a great fan of Disney parks since I like coasters and am not that bothered about theming and flat rides.

Are the two coasters there worth the admission price?

I'm already going to KBF and SFMM so I have a day free.

Also what are the lines like mid-week?

Thanks in advance.

Grant,

Your midweek experience should be pleasant, the lines will be way down (barring any unforeseen X/Deja openings, of course). MM will be open during the week all through September for a change, so you are in luck.

As for DCA: I'm assuming you have never been to So. Cal. before. If this is the case, I would heartily recommend a visit to Disneyland instead of DCA. DCA is decent, but DL is really a one of a kind thing. I now there are other Disneylands around the world, but this one was the first, and it just has a very cool feel to it. The rides are mostly great there, with Space Mountain being a damn fine coaster, better IMO than anything at DCA.

And, if you decide to skip Disney altogether, might I suggest a trip to Scandia to ride the Scandia Screamer instead? This is a very intense quasi-portable steel coaster, full of amazing airtime and surprising laterals.

Regardless, have fun and enjoy your visit!

wWell, for $33 its worth it to me since I live in souther cali. But you're probably gonna pay regular price which is $43, so its all up to you. The only reasons I would go to DCA is to ride California Screamin, Maliboomer, and Soarin over California. All of those rides would be worth it for me.
From what I've heard NO! *** This post was edited by Mr. Mouse on 8/6/2001. ***

Actually, I've been to CA about 10 times, and I did DL many years ago, but they've had nothing new that interests me since I last went.

I got into DW free, but DL or DCA wouldn't give me any discount, so I think I'll boycott the place anyway as no one seems to think too much of it. Looks like I'll be going to Vegas a day earlier.

Thanks

I think CA might be worth it. Ive never been there but Ive been to Disney in Florida. I went to Disneyworld in Florida last September (2000) and there werent any lines at all. Everything was a walk-on. Thats an advantage but I dont what its like during the fall months in the West.
Belmont Babe and I did DCA a couple of weeks ago. We both had a very enjoyable time. We would definitely recommend it. Go in with an open mind. It's not Disneyland, so don't try to compare it to it's neighbor. Judge it on it's own merit. Take your time and soak it all in.(By the way we found Fastpass to be very helpful on California Screamin and Soaring over California.)From two who HAVE been there, YES!
Go to Sea World and protest infront of the park. Ask why the Sea world in Florida has 2 coasters and this one has none?
