Is Anton Schwarzkopf alive?

On the Roller Coaster Rollback, on this day in 1924, Anton Schwarzkopf was born. Since it's 2001, is Anton still alive. If not, when did he pass away?

Last I heard, in first drop -ECC mag- he is alive, but unwell with Alzheimers disease. This guy is a genius you know, we owe him so much!!!.

I am sorry to hear that he is suffering from Alzheimers. I love Anton's coasters!!!! Too bad he doesn't have a son or daughter that is carring on the coaster making.

Yeah, I think his son is a contractor, maintaining and restoring Schwarzkopf rides. Schwarzkopf went out of business, as although his ideas were(and still are) fantastic, he didn't have much of a mind for business...despite takeovers.

Schwarzkopf was truly a genius! Most of his rides run as smooth and intense as they did back in the day. His designs set the standard for many to come.

They may have gone out of business at one point, but it sure appears that there is a new Schwarzkopf because they're exhibiting at IAAPA.

I will add that it was Schwarzkopf's daughter running the show at IAAPA last year. From what I gathered in interviewing her is that they are in the business of repairing and providing maintenance services for his rides. As well as they have a binder full of used flat rides for vendors to buy from them.

And they mentioned that Anton was not well, and that "well ... you know he's old".
