is a boomerang the same as a cobra roll or a batwi

I get confused with all the different inversions.
A boomerang is the same as a cobra roll. B&M calls it a cobra roll and Vekoma calls it a Boomerang.

A batwing is kind of like an upsidedown boomerang found on Montu.

So the batwing is like the second and third inversions on the Steel Phantom half corkscrew, half loop, half loop, half corkscrew?

This is where RCT comes in handy! :)

yeah thats a batwing, montu has a great undergroung batwing that pulls great gs
i always thought a boomerang was a batwing. On the back of the great american scream machine photo card, it states "seven electrifying loops including the boomerang!" what its refering to is the element of 'half corkscrew, half loop, half loop, half corkscrew'also found on montu. the arrow versions tend to be a little more twisted than that of the symmetrical b&m version.
No a Batwing and a boomerang traditionlly are not the same element. However they both have the same charateristics. They both come back the wayy they went in. Another name for the Batwing is a Kamikaze Curve wich is the name arrow gave it on the Orient Express. The first Coaster to have this element.

Boomerang-Half loop-half corkscrew-half corkscrew-half loop. Boomerang/Invertigo/Incredible Hulk

Batwing/Kamikaze-half corkscrew-half loop-half loop-half corkscrew. Orient Express/Montu

I think the largest Batwing and probably the best would have to be that of Top Gun at Carowinds. Goes Underground also into a mist tunnel underneath a walkway entrance.

A batwing can also be refered to as a pretzel loop

To answer the question a boomerang is the same as a B&M Cobra Roll or an Arrow Batwing.
This confuses me everytime ... I was always lead to believe that a Boomerang is a type of Coaster that Vekoma builds.
A cobra roll is 1/2 loop, 1/2 corkscrew, 1/2 corkscrew, 1/2 loop exiting the same way you came in ... ala Hulk, Alpengeist and most B&M
A Batwing or bowtie is the element found on Viper @ SFMM and Montu @ BGT
Mind you, different Companies, Different names. X has an element called a Raven turn ... now what the Hell is that?

i agree with The legend
And if you want to get even more technical, remember the thing called a "Sea Serpent?" It starts out like a normal cobra roll but exits the inversion going the same way it entered.

Jeff, perhaps it is time to contact Badnitrus and get a chart of the elements, (no, not chemestry) complete with a rendering, brief description, and the first coaster to feature said element. I think that would be an excellent feature for CoasterBuzz! (Maybe I should have put this in the suggestions)

Boomerang:
-Vekoma: the thing on a Boomerang and Invertigo
-Arrow: the thing on the old Steel Phantom
Cobra Roll:
-B&M and Intamin: the thing on Hulk
Batwing:
-B&M: the thing on Montu
-Arrow: the thing on Drachen Fire

At least, I think.
