Iron Wolf - Now Predator....

Hey All!

I noticed at Fright Fest that Iron Wolf had been changed to The Predator... but in earlier years it was Iron Werewolf...

Now, at the theaters last weekend - watching SAW 4 (horrible, by the way....) a preview comes on for an Alien VS Predator remake!

Now, did GA theme Iron Wolf this way because of the movie coming out, or just because of the whole Area 51 had been moved....

What do you guys think? I know Fright Fest is over... but just rethought this for some reason....

Noooo!

How dare they steal the name "Predator" from Darien Lake's only original named coaster.

You do realize that the real definition of Predator isn't a sci-fi alien with plasma cannons mounted on its shoulders...

Predator at Darien Lake and Great America refer to some sort of beast that preys on another organism.

But, as I previously mentioned... The 'Area 51'... area, had been moved to the back of the park (where it wasn't in earlier years)

And suddenly Iron Wolf is related to aliens...

Just something I noticed :)

It may have to do with the supposedly coming remod of Iron Wolf. Which includes it getting new trains and a paintjob.

I'm pretty sure the forthcoming AVP movie is a sequel, not a remake. Like the first movie wasn't horrible enough.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I thought AVP was great and the best Alien movie since Aliens. The sequel looks a little too gruesome IMO.

And yeah, I don't think there is ANY correlation between this and Iron Wolf. ;)

Jeff, maybe they are redoing the first movie to make it up to us for such a suckfest the first one was.

Intimidator 305 the tallest most hated coaster nobody has ever ridden...

Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem is not a remake of the first one, it's a sequel to the first Alien vs. Predator movie and continues the story where the first one left off.

I watched the trailer and can't believe how much gore there is! This film is Rated R, which is a step up from the PG-13 Alien vs. Predator.

I agree, minus the 'great' part. Unfortunately, 'best Alien movie since Aliens' puts it up against Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection, both of which vehemently sucked. So, at best, AVP mildly sucked.

Sorry to go off-topic...uh...never ridden Iron Wolf. But I've heard some say it sucks, anywhere from mildly to vehemently.

People keep in mind that during Fright fest many rides change names and operations at Great America. Iron Wolf is one of the best Standup Coasters and the first B@M ever. However a couple of years ago new restaints added to the ride now makes it painful to ride. I only hope New Trains with different restraints will happen because other then myself non of my friends ever ride, before to all these people it was a must do. If no changes occur and with all the compaints the park gets about that rides roughness it could soon loose it's lease like De Ja Vu.
