Iron Dragon's new colors?

I'm not sure where it was posted. I read (somewhere) that CP may repaint ID to fit more with TDD. Doesn't TTD already share ID's color scheme?

opps we went to war with the wrong country. Iraq/ Iran, anyone could have made that mistake.

Not exactly... red track with yellow supports and red track with grayish-brown supports are close, but not the same thing. :)

Cedar Point confirmed at No Coaster Con that Iron Dragin was getting painted a new color scheme. Forget what that was though.

Next up on the list is Magnum XL200 for repainting.

FunCam, which you can reach from Virtual Midway, lets you zoom up close to Iron Dragon to see it's new color scheme, which is apparently yellow supports and red track. Some people have said that the yellow may be primer, and others have said that the yellow is the actual color of the supports.

I can't really make a decision as to whether or not I like the massive amount of yellow in that area, so I guess I'll have to wait for pictures from opening day to decide if it looks good.

Magnum is currently being painted orange*.

*This is not a claim to its original color. It's obvious, however, that the color of paint they're slapping on is Orange, however.

I thought Bryan Edwards said the colors for Iron Dragon would be yellow track with Red Supports, basically the inverse colors of Top Thrill Dragster.

Interesting choice, to say the least.

OMG I have a new sig!!!
I heard yellow and orange for Iron Dragon.
Hopefully it is not red track with yellow supports because that is exactly what TTD has! If it is, maybe they just had too much yellow paint and didn't know what to do with it. :)

*lets out howl of angony* NOOOOOOO! They are defacing my beautiful Magnum. I despise that color. Not to say that your sources arent correct but I hope its not true.

Also I think it would be stupid to paint a coaster with the same color sceme next to it, GP are bound to get confused.

Boy, CF must have gotten a bargain price on red and yellow paint this year, since these are also the supposed colors for Silver Bullet.
What's wrong with painting coasters the same color they were? I think the colors on Iron Dragon looked pretty good, but I can't imagine that they are actually defaceing Magnum. That ride should never be any color other than Red or rust.

-Dan If you don't like the ride shut up and get out of line.

the gp and anyone with common sense can tell a 420 ft. tall coaster that goes 120 mph from a ride under 100 feet going less than 40 mph.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Magnum's current and original paintjob technically a shade of orange (even though to everyone that I've ever talked to's eye, the thing's red)? If so then that your beloved arrow pain machine (I'm a heretic!) may not be getting as defaced as you think.

See thats where you are wrong, Ive seen people ask at the gate to MF if the ride goes upside down (which granted is slightly hidden) but I even heard someone ask a TTD attendant if that ride went upside down, the entire layout is in front of you! Never underestimate the power/abundence of stupid people in large groups.

As for the Red/Orange arguement I just have to say that I happen to have a CP map guide in my hand and there is no mistaking the color they give Magnum in their map, its red.

I still dont get how people can believe that orange can morph into the color that it is today, when red is bleached by the sun and blurred from a distance with the little bit of rust showing on it it can appear orange but there is no way that orange can somehow become redish. To put some rudimentary physics into this, think back to kindergarden how did you make orange fingerpaint? You mixed red and yellow paint together, while this is a little simplistic for how industrial metal paint is made orange is a mixture of red and yellow. Red is the darker of the two colors and thus more prone to bleaching by the sun (dulling the color) thus over time orange paint will start to become more yellowish, not redish. Anyway rant over take it or leave it.

Can't we put red vs. orange in the list of TOSsed topics already? It's a fun ride. Who cares what color it is?

The CP website lists it as red track...

But then again, what do I know?
