IOA Halloween Horror Nights

Does anyone know if the rides are open during HHH, or is it just all the haunted houses. Also, what are the crowds like?

All the rides will be open. They are making the haunted houses right now (I was there on Saturday) and they are making them so that the regular queues for the rides will still be open. Here's a link to the official site that explains that the rides will be open as well.

The only two rides that are not listed as open are inconsequential -- Triceratops Encounter (it will be one of the five haunted mazes) and Pteranadon Flyers.

Since no one has said anything I thought I should mention that the weekend crowds are almost unberable at HHN. During the week it's managable, but still more crowded than you'd expect for a weekday at 10p.m. at night. Also, if you plan on going during the weekend you should by your tickets in advance because they do sell out the event.

To answer your last question:

Lines at HHN are very long. Hanuted houses last year often got up to hour and a half ( posted 2 hour) lines. They move quickly, but are very long. Last year, there were two mazes in the back of the park with only one queue leading to both, that was the shortest line. But with new location, it is anyone's guess.

Ride lines averaged about 30 minutes the two times I went to the event, with the top 2-3 rides being just under an hour. IOA may be different though.

What are the weekend crowds like on Nov. 1, 2. It says on the website it is non peak.

I went 3 years ago on a day in November. Lines for haunted houses were under an hour the whole time and lines were all about 20 minutes for rides, except for Twister (the newest ride at the time). However, it was raining all day leading up to the event and most of the night, which may have scared some people off.

If you do go, get there before it opens. With so many people crowding into the park at once, lines at the gate last year were around an hour a little after opening. Despite the long lines, it is a great event and I have enjoyed every visit. Also, do not miss Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

I went on a Sunday in early October last year and had NO LINES at all! We went on all 6 mazes within the 1st hour, did all the rides (except Kong which wasn't open), and then went back thru all the houses again and left earlier than closing!

I'd definately stay away from the Fri or Sat night dates, unless you like waiting and line-jumpers. Also, the oficial site for HHN states that "roller coasters open during select operating hours". Is this just so they can close the queue early so people don't lineup at the park closing time? Please share if you have info.

I'm going to be going on Sunday the 13th. Hopefully lines won't be that bad, as I'd like to get to see everything before the park closes at midnight.
